Lovely Stay

The apartment was well appointed with all we needed for a 5 night stay. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was great with a super shower. The towels were high-end and well laundered. The washer and dryer were also a lovely convenience. Overall, the place was worth the money and very comfortable. The only negative was accessing the apartment as the code we were given didn’t work. We spent 2 hours on the sidewalk with our luggage in the hot sun. It took us forever to connect with VRBO’s client support as we kept getting recordings and they don’t provide an emergency number. Once we got to speak with someone our problem was rectified within 10 minutes. So our first impression was not good but things picked up considerably after that.

This property has potential, but was not as expected. Location is convenient to main attractions and it has been renovated to look very modern. The host was extremely non-communicative right from time of booking months ago right up to us having to call an hour before arrival to get access information. No Wifi information was provided without asking and I did not receive any further communication after that.There were issues with a broken window (glass shattered) in one of the bedrooms that had a towel stuffed in it, a burner on the stove that would not turn off due to a broken control and some of the bedsheets had cigarette burns in them. The remote for the main TV in the living room did not work, even after purchasing our own batteries and replacing them. For the price, these issues should be addressed or at the very least communicated.

The suite itself is okay and is in a great location not far from the metro, but the communication with the host was terrible. I had to text multiple times just to get the access code, and there was no info in the suite about the wifi or anything else. After multiple texts asking for the wifi password and about the remote that didn’t work for the TV in the living room, the host finally responded a day later with the code and said they would come by to set up the remote, but never did. They never got back to me and I gave up trying to contact them. I’ve stayed in many vacation rentals and this was the first with zero information and had the worst communication.Positives of the suite are that it’s updated and has air conditioning. However, the suite had a strange odour but doesn’t have windows that open easily to get fresh air. Outside, there is a big pile of garbage in the alley maybe 20 feet from the door. We scared a raccoon or some other large rodent coming back one night. Inside, the beds are both extremely soft, a bedroom window was broken and had paper towel crumpled around the base (I assume due to water from storms that came through before we arrived). It had most kitchen essentials, except a corkscrew (which was annoying). There was only one Nespresso pod provided (and no regular coffee maker) and only one roll of extra toilet paper (for an 8 day stay), requiring me to buy some of both. I’d advise to stay somewhere else.

We did not stay at this property. I tried communicating with the host for a week and they never responded. VRBO canceled and provided a full refund than set us up in a different place . Thank you VRBODavid
