Sunrise Beach is a rare and unforgettable Lake Superior retreat, located just 5 miles west of Munising and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. This authentic log cabin sits on 10 wooded acres with direct access to a wide, sugar-sand beach, offering breathtaking views of Grand Island and Lake Superior right outside your door.

Sunrise Beach is a seasonal property, available for rentals from mid-May through October.

This is truly a “location, location, location” property — the beach is literally steps from the cabin, creating a peaceful, private setting that feels like having your own stretch of Lake Superior shoreline.

The cabin features three bedrooms and two bathrooms, providing comfortable accommodations for families or small groups. Sleeping arrangements include king-size beds and a bunk room, making it ideal for couples, families, or friends traveling together.

Inside, you’ll find the warm charm of an authentic rustic log cabin, paired with modern comforts. The cabin includes:

A full kitchen for preparing meals

A cozy gas fireplace for cool evenings

Two TVs with streaming service

Wi-Fi internet to stay connected if needed

The screened porch is a favorite spot for morning coffee, evening relaxation, and listening to the waves roll in from the beach. Outside, enjoy a fire pit, expansive sandy shoreline, and the peaceful sounds of Lake Superior.

A three-car garage provides ample space for vehicles and outdoor gear.

Sunrise Beach offers the perfect balance of seclusion and convenience — close enough to Munising for dining, shopping, and attractions, yet far enough away to enjoy privacy, quiet, and stunning natural beauty.

Sunrise Beach is ideally located just minutes from Munising and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, making it easy to enjoy the area’s most iconic attractions while returning each evening to the privacy of your own sandy beach. Popular activities nearby include Pictured Rocks boat cruises, hiking to waterfalls and scenic overlooks, kayaking, exploring Lake Superior beaches, and scenic drives. The surrounding area also offers local dining, shops, and seasonal events, all within a short drive.

A casino, restaurant, and gas station are located approximately 2 miles away on M-28, making it easy to pick up essentials or enjoy a quick meal without driving into town.

This home is professionally managed by Hiawatha’s Hideaway, offering several unique vacation homes in the area.

Beautiful cabin, very quiet and peaceful. I really appreciate that there is bottled water supplied because it is well water. Host was very responsive and everything was clear. We truly enjoyed our time there and hope to stay there again.

Family gathering

We went to the location in Christmas for a late summer family gathering. The cabin was so roomy and had all the amenities we needed and more! The location is so private , surrounded by woods yet opens up to the bay off of Lake Superior with a sandy beach. So beautiful!

Very relaxing and beautiful.

The location on Lake superior is absolutely beautiful. The cabin is in a quiet community where you have privacy. You can fall asleep to the waves on Lake Superior. The cabin is well furnished and clean. Great experience!

The cabin was perfect for our family. The private beach was amazing and views was spectacular, enjoyed the fire pit cooked s’mores. A weekend getaway!

This property is gorgeous! We loved the private beach. The lake is so clear. The water is cold but the kiddos didn't care. They had so much fun on the beach and in the water. The house was very comfortable for the 7 of us. The location is great! We went to the pictured rocks, a couple of waterfalls and the sand dunes. We would definitely like to return someday!

NO SAFE drinking water so dishonest

Deceitful, dishonest and what gives rentals a bad name. Not until the week before were we informed the water was unsafe to drink. The owners knew of this for months, yet this information was not communicated prior to full payment. Had we been made aware of the situation we would NEVER have chosen this rental. Yes, there is one dispenser of safe water located in the kitchen to obtain safe drinking water. VERY INCONVENIENT every time you want to brush your teeth and it is disgusting showering in yellow/rusty water. Very, very dishonest. Will definitely not be going back to a disgustingly, deceitful rental property. Shame on the owners.

There were some water issues that the property management knew about and had warned us about and they are in the process of fixing but was a bit frustrating. We had a wonderful vacation! The home is right on the beach, very private with its own firepit. We had several fires in the firepit which is just a few feet from the water. It was a beautiful setting for watching the sunset, incredible starry nights, with the moon rising directly from Lake Superior. Modern log home well maintained, with all the amenities. Great Location, in Christmas MI. The Pictured Rock Tour boats, Pictured Rock Hiking Trails and several Waterfalls are minutes away in Munising MI. We enjoyed all of these natural wonders. Lisa (host) was very attentive making sure we were well taken care of.

Location beautiful. House very nice - but age has affected the structure. - opening windows on south side brought overwhelming stench of septic system in. Sweat stained pillows for pull outs. Yuck. Not sure if it was the lake or point source tap water that made us itch . . . Strangers pulled up to store a boat in the garage - ? Good thing we werent using it! “Hot tub” is a jacuzzi. Overpriced. Two stars.

Great property with a great location!

This property was perfect for us - two adult couples vacationing together. Two bedrooms with two baths on opposite sides of the cabin with kitchen, dining and great room in between. The beachfront is fantastic and great for a campfire in the evening. The location was perfect for us as we hit Tahquamenon Falls, Pictured Rocks cruise, Pictured Rocks hiking, Sugarloaf mountain, Presque Isle Park, and numerous waterfalls. There is a casino in Christmas too if you need a break from hiking. Supplies are abundant in Munising so don't worry forgetting something or packing enough food. Lisa did a great job of providing us with information for our stay and we couldn't have been happier about our week in the UP! Will definitely be back again and would love to stay at this cabin again!
