1890's Home In Historic Downtown Franklin

Rose Cottage charms her guests. This Victorian home was built in the 1890's and lies within the original surveyed five block square area of Historic Downtown Franklin.
When you arrive at Rose Cottage, you will be stepping back into the history of Franklin to enjoy a little piece of "times past" with its architecture and furnishings.
Even though the cottage has been completely modernized, it still is reminiscent of another time with careful attention given to the balance between old and new.

Rose Cottage is about a two minute walk to The Square and to Franklin's main attractions, venues and restaurants. There is no struggle to find a place to park
with its location being closer than much of the available parking. It is quite
convenient in the evening to be able to walk home from an evening spent downtown!

The cottage also features a private backyard where one is able to retreat from the
bustle of downtown. The spacious covered patio area is perfect for sipping your morning coffee. The glider and rocking chairs predate WWII. Enjoy perfect outdoor dining at the picnic table. If you are interested in outside sports, a ping pong table,
basketball goal, and croquet are available. There is also a portable fire pit, however you must supply your own wood.

Rose Cottage welcomes guests to enjoy our small town hospitality and the many special events Franklin hosts which make it such a delightful place to visit.

We chose Rose Cottage based on its location. It’s within walking distance of most all shopping, eating, and nightlife in downtown Franklin. That it was historic was definitely a plus for us. Our host, Susan, was a delight. We didn’t have any problems, but we met her, and she was available had there been any. Usually there is a list of last minute chores renters have to do before leaving a property. Not at Rose Cottage. Seems Susan’s philosophy is that people can clean at home but not on vacation. Two things that are important to me: Amenities that are listed in booking information and are broken when you get there or can be used for a fee and shower water pressure. The amenity we really enjoyed was a working fireplace. Gas. Easy to use. And I consider a good shower with strong water pressure akin to an amenity. Nothing worse than trying to enjoy a drizzling shower! Both of the bathroom showers had great shower heads and pressure. Both delightful. Rose cottage lived up to its listing and to my expectations. We would stay there again.

Honestly, I was shocked with the home after reading the reviews. The home had a very distinct odor, the rooms were very chopped up and the outdoor furniture was dangerous, broken, and unusable. I tried calling and texting the host the morning of checkout and got no response. I would not stay here again and would not recommend this home. I can say the beds were large and comfortable and the location was a plus.

Susan was the perfect host and we enjoyed the property location. Shopping, restaurants and a beautiful park all within walking distance of the property. The property was very spacious and clean. Quaint Historic Cottage Steps to downtown

This is a lovely historic cottage that reminds us our our grandparents homes when growing up. Two large bedrooms, vaulted ceilings and extra sitting areas made it a nice place to regroup and plan the next adventure. Being so close to downtown it was easy to walk and see it all. Great parking tucked in behind as well. Susan was a delight to work with on the reservation and was a very nice host.

Lovely cottage In downtown franklin

We stayed 10 days in Rose Cottage while our home in Franklin is having work done. We are coming back soon for another week. The home is charming and fully equipped. I’m glad we found this place!

This property was so perfect! Our daughter was getting married at CJ‘s off the Square and we could not have been any closer! The check-in process and the checkout process was so easy and communication with our host was fantastic. So kind and accommodating and helpful! Franklin is a great town and staying at this house. Lovely and Comfortable!

We loved our stay at this beautiful historic home. Great location, walking distance to several good places to eat, and an easy drive to Arrington Winery. The house was clean, comfortable, and decorated with respect for the house’s history. Both beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had room to cook the one meal we made there. Communication with Susan was easy and timely. We hope to be back!

My husband and I brought our two dogs and were very welcomed by the host. The house was spacious, had everything we needed and so cutely decorated. The bed was comfy and larger than our king bed! Will definitely comeback.

Another excellent stay

This was our second time staying at one of Susan’s properties and we once again had a fantastic time! Susan was quick to answer all my questions. She was always accommodating and friendly. The property was spotless, comforting, and welcoming. So much room for all of us! The location can’t be beat as it is within walking distance of historic Franklin with shops and restaurants.
