Such a cute cottage near downtown. Close to everything in downtown Franklin. House was very clean and so charming. We had a great stay and canât wait to be back!
A very nicely decorated place in a great location in Historic downtown Franklin. Timely communication from the Host was appreciated. We had a great stay and will return.
This charming home is so convenient. We loved walking into town and then coming back to relax. It was well setup for a quick girls trip where our goals were to relax and catch up with one another. Canât wait to return!
First, I have to say that this house is even better than the pictures. It was a 7-minute walk to downtown and all of the restaurants. It was absolutely lovely. I will be back!
The Dahl House is truly charming and special. Beautifully decorated and well appointed with anything and everything we needed. The location is fantastic. Waking distance to Main Street. Communication with Nanci was stellar throughout the process. We highly recommend the Dahl House to all future guests and will plan to stay again next time we are in town.
The decorations were so festive including holiday music playing on arrival and a beautiful Christmas tree making the holiday special for me and my kids thank you.
Stayed two nights in June 2024 while in town for a wedding in nearby Leipers Fork. Had great communication with the owner. Beds were very comfortable. Kitchen very functional. The only issue we ran into was that there wasn't DirecTV or any cable TV. WiFi didn't work very well either. Neither was a big issue for us though.
We LOVED our stay at the Dahl House! The home itself is charming, lots of character, and perfectly clean. The front porch swings and Adirondack chairs were a big hit and we hung out there a lot. The kitchen is new, but classic and staying with the look of the home. The location just canât be beat. We walked a lot while staying there. The Franklin square is one block over. Canât say enough about this place!
I left some of our clothes hanging on the back of the bedroom door and Nanci was great about helping me get them back.
Highly recommend the Dahl House!!
CHARMING HOME with a couple of small tweaks needed
This is a lovely home, well decorated, and in a perfect location. The living room and primary are quite comfortable. We immediately showed off the home via facetime to our family back at home! We felt safe.
Our main issues were lack of window coverings and the Alexa. The neighbor had on a floodlight and there was no way to block it shining into the primary. We asked Alexa nicely, but could not turnoff the party lights on the back porch shining into the guest room. Alexa also didn't respond to turn lights on in the primary. We had to continually reference the correct Alexa instructions as we wanted to turn things off and on which was a little bit of a pain. There are threats of being charged if a switch is touched instead. The twin beds were not very comfortable for an adult as they were unstable and there were no mattress pads. It is a an older home, but there is nowhere to plug in my laptop and work at the same time. I was here for a work trip; so, it was a surprising issue. We did have to run out to buy toilet paper the first day. There isn't a picture of the shower in the pictures. It was little tight with hair on the shower wall, mildew on the shower curtain, mold stains on the caulking, and slippery floor. Shower pressure was great, though.
All these little things added up after a long day of work. I hesitated to contact the owner after seeing her reactions to others. Overall, it was very charming and positive memory for us. A couple of little improvements would help!
Used house as a base for visiting son and family at Brownland Farm during hunter/jumper horse show. Felt very safe coming home alone at night. And house very convenient to downtown Franklin and Cool Springs. Will definitely stay again for other horse shows.
Great location, and you can walk everywhere. Lots of things to do downtown. The house itself is supposed to sleep 8, but even after renting the Queen Suite separately, one of our guests had to sleep on the couch (our group was 7 total). There was a King, Queen and 2 Twins.
The windows are painted shut, and there are no screens so you canât open a window. No functional window coverings in the King bedroom.
Bathroom doors canât be locked. Strange. Every closet in each bedroom was locked so you couldnât hang anything up.
But, we had a good time overall and itâs quite charming.
The Dahl house was beautiful and a perfect location to downtown Franklin. The host Nanci was very friendly and hospitable. We truly enjoyed our 4 day stay in Franklin and great location to visit other towns, Leiperâs fork, Nolensville, and Nashville.
We absolutely loved this house. Perfect location for my daughter and grandson to meet me at our halfway point between Georgia/Memphis. Only wish we had access to the fire pit. But we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back soon. Thank you!!
Great location, cute home and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Cleanliness was lacking in several areas. We found only two wash cloths the first day. Later found wet wash clothes in bathroom drawer and others in a basket under TV in bedroom. Main thing, we found molded sausage left in oven from previous occupant. Just seemed like cleaning was done very quickly.
We stayed here with our two adult daughters. This was a super cute home. It was very well decorated, clean, very cozy and warm. The property manager was very responsive and helpful. The location was also fabulous.
This cottage is charming and perfectly situated near downtown Franklin. Once we parked the car we did not need to use it all weekend! We will definitely return to this lovely location.
The property is fine however the owner leaves a lot to be desired. She called the next day after check-in and asked to speak to my wife. We were in downtown Franklin and my wife was in another store. I wasnât expecting a call from anyone with a Beverly Hills, CA number so I didnât know who was calling me at first. She asked if anyone was at the house as she wanted to stop by and drop off some items (weird) and I explained to her that we had just left and were down the street shopping however the door was unlocked as we couldnât figure out how to lock it (Completely our fault; We should have called immediately). I didnât think it would be a big deal as the area seemed like âMayberryâ from the 1960âs where everyone left their doors unlocked however Mrs. Dahl began to scream at me saying that she had valuables in the home and I shouldnât have left it unlocked. I explained that I tried for quite sometime to get the automatic door to lock (There was a procedure that wasnât outlined in check-in instructions) and was unsuccessful. She screamed at me that I was lying. At this point I hung up because I didnât want to be screamed at by someone calling my a liar. She immediately called back. I answered thinking that maybe she had collected herself and was planning to apologize and work the problem out. I was met by her screaming, âGet the F*&$ out of my house! Get the F*&$ out of my house now!â She then continued to rant saying that I was lying about my wife being unavailable and that if my wife was smart sheâd run from my crazy a$$ (I canât argue that point, I did better than I deserve) and that I was to vacate her property. I calmly said that we were five minutes away and would leave immediately. She waited about ten minutes and texted, then called. She wanted to start over and said she had a bad day. She apologized and asked that we consider staying and to not leave. I told her that I accepted her apology and I apologized for anything I did to offend her and for leaving her door unlocked. However I explained that we no longer felt welcome and would go check into a hotel. We then packed my father (who was diagnosed with congestive heart failure last week) and the rest of my family into the car. Prior to leaving, I called and asked her to talk me through how to lock the door so I didnât make the same mistake. She told me how. I explained my dadâs health condition and that I was a combat veteran and that we wished her a Merry Christmas.
