DISGUSTING. Trash all over the halls. Mouse in my room. Had to ask employees to wear a mask. The security guard told me to mind my business and act like a lady. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL.
Let me start by saying that I love the Hudson hotel and usually stay at the Hudson hotel when in NYC and have been doing so for over ten years. I’ve even booked multiple rooms at the hotel on the few occasions that I’ve had employees in New York for conferences.
On this trip, I came to NYC for a date weekend and paid in advance for a Queen Studio Suite. When we arrived, we were told that all of the Queen suites were booked and that we could get a room that had two double beds. Because it was a couples weekend, we were not interested in two double beds.
Because we did arrive early, I asked the front desk clerk if anyone would be checking out of a Queen suite later, and the clerk replied that a room was becoming available and that it needed to be cleaned. She asked if we would come back around 2 pm, so we could get the Queen Suite.
At 2, we returned to only be told that the queen suite was now unavailable again. When I asked why, I was told that preference was given to someone who booked directly through their hotel reservation system. This disappointed me, because I am such a regular visitor at the hotel and have spent tens of thousands of dollars there previously.
I’ll be back, but was pretty disappointed with my very lackluster service and support on this trip. Lesson learned: don’t assume you’ll get the room you pay for at the hotel.
I stayed for 3 nights.
Firstly when i reached the hotel i had to ask someone where is the entrance they closed the main entrance i do not know why.
No receptionist available the security took care of me. Hot water was not working.
The bedroom and bathroom were nice.
I do not think i am gonna go there again.
I've stayed at the Hudson before and returning, it felt like a totally different place.
I understand that due to the pandemic, the hotel is at a very reduced capacity...but upon arriving, I was surprised to see the front entrance with a cracked and locked door and all the lights inside shut off.
For a moment, I thought the hotel was out of business and my booking had been made in error.
I wish I had received some sort of notice about what to expect...I discovered a back door and found my way to a security office where I was able to gain access. The lights in the hotel were mostly off...it seemed like it hadn't been cleaned in months...the reception was just one person and, as I was checking in, I noticed a homeless person enter and take a separate set of elevators. I was OK with that...but again, I would have appreciated a heads up about some of the updates to the hotel.
My hallway on the 3rd floor smelled like pot, too. And my already dark room had a broken light. I was just staying for less than 12 hours, so didn't feel the need to switch rooms. I just rolled with it.
Just sharing so that anyone who is thinking about booking knows the current situation of the hotel. It feels a bit abandoned.
The rooms are teeny tiny and in need of a refresh. The bath fixtures are reminiscent of a budget hotel. I had the misfortune of looking under the bed (of course there are no rugs) and saw a thick layer of dust and lint. With rooms that small housekeeping should be vacuuming- would take, say, 2.5 minutes.
We couldn’t stay (14 day quarantine on a 4day reservation). The Hudson wouldn’t consider giving us a voucher for a future stay on our pre-paid reservation. London and Edinburgh hotels did give us vouchers. Once we can travel again, we plan a long stay in NY, but not at the Hudson. And we won’t have good word for its sister hotel in Vegas where we live, the Delano. So thanks for asking about our “stay.”
