Hotel was just ok. They only had 2 working elevators so there was always a 5-15 minute wait just to get on one to go to your floor. The hallways are in desperate need of new carpet and repainting. The rooms were ok but are severely lacking in electrical outlets and the ones they do have are so worn out that anything you plug into them keeps falling back out. In this day and age of computers, cell phones and other electronic devices not having sufficient electrical outlets in convenient places is a deal breaker for me.

In general ok. Spacious for low room rate. Good location near Times Square.

The hotel staff was great. The room and hallways could use some major updates and sprucing up. We only had heat options in the room. If it got stuffy we had to open windows which then the street noise and honking horns was heard. We also noticed a lot of mold spots on the ceiling in bathroom. So much that even the hotel maintenance came in and painted while we were out touring the city. Hotel appeared very old and dingy. Needs major updates.

I was not expecting a 5 star accommodation. I did my homework. I know that The Manhattan is not a luxurious hotel. BUT I was (as any guest would have) expecting the staff to be courteous and professional. That of this hotel are absolutely terrible at guest relations skill. One particular check in staff with the name Rose Jean, was arrogant and condescending. She brags about working at the hotel for more than 20 years but does not know a thing about professionalism and courtesy. She also needed help with the computer the whole time she was assisting us. She probably need to retire asap and the other staff may need a brush up on their guest relation skills. I was a repeat customer, and this was my second stay. Now i am absolutely considering other hotels in the area.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed at in the city. Asked staff what was going on with the air conditioning in my room, they seemed to be annoyed that I would even ask that. Apparently they have their air conditioning set based off the time of year so good luck getting sleep on a muggy 75 degree day in November. Bed and pillows smelled dirty like they hadn’t been washed in a while. Restroom floor was disgusting. I didn’t notice any facilities like those at other NYC hotels to justify the resort fees but rest assured they certainly will charge you them! Apparently keeping the hotel as hot as a sauna counts for one so that’s probably what they’re charging you for. Don’t waste your time with this one. There are plenty of other hotels similarly priced, much better quality and still within walking distance of what you may want to do. Last time I ever stay hear and I hope others heed my advice, stay away!

It was fair. Faucet needed a washer and dripped. Safe in closet did not work. Coffee maker did not work. No maid service one day. Overall the staff, especially at the front desk were friendly and helpful.

The room, while technically clean, was run down and in poor condition. The grout in the bathroom tile was dirty and moldy. The bathtub was nicked and pockmarked. The tile on the floor was worn and rubbed. The wallpaper and the paint on the ceiling was peeling. The furniture was all beat up. The room was pretty spacious, but just decrepit. The carpet was horrible.
