I did not actually stay - the room they gave me was disgusting, so I cancelled my stay and went to a different hotel. They told me that I would NOT be charged for my stay, but I have been charged almost $1200 for my stay, which I did not use. I am having a very difficult time getting the hotel to refund my money. At this time I have still not succeeded in getting my refund.

Property being renovated. I was initially on the floor in a room from the 1970s. Staff was accommodating and moved to a better room for last night of stay. Avoid floors that have not been renovated.

We took our dog with us and she started to cry when we left. The wonderful woman working with the construction company had an office next to our room. She watched our dog while we attended our daughter’s graduation without worrying. The staff is nice. They take a long time if at all to answer the front desk when I call. We called for blankets and no one ever came. Ms. Racquel was so wonderful. She was so professional, very nice, went above and beyond for us!

This property is nothing like the photos. I was shocked after paying over $400 for a nonrefundable room. The hallways are filthy. The room is ancient, outdated, downright scary. I walked in and walked right out to a different hotel down the street. Don’t let the photos fool you.

Would I stay again ? Yes . Where there issues , yes . Coffee maker in room didn’t work , breakfast is a joke , just skip it and walk to Dunkin’ Donuts around the corner . Seems they are under renovation…. As I found out by hammering and construction noise in my room one morning . Very basic , but the room I had was recently updated and the location is great , so that’s the main reason to stay here on your trip to nyc.

The staff was kind and excellent. The floor I was on however was like staying in construction zone. Wet paint in the halls with signs everywhere and ice and water bottle fill station did not work. The room while clean enough was also in very poor condition. The walls were bare with outlines of where art used to be hung, the headboard had tears and rips in it and there was one light. They were clearly renovating but should not have let guest stay in those rooms. It was not a pleasant experience.

The check in process was really slow - booked room not available - staff very rude and dismissive - told as I had paid in advance they could do nothing only choice was to forfeit cost or accept a basic room for 1st night. This room was uninhabitable - next to the lift shaft and ice making machine - moist all night. Air conditioning sounded like a jet engine and could not be turned off - decor was worse than untidy - mould in the bathroom and curtains did not pu so neon lights all night. Door lock did not engage had to place a chair against the door for safety - safe in the room was locked open so did not use- plus a sign stated using the safe did not mean the hotel took liability. Only 2 lifts worked so many queues. Really poor experience - was offered a free breakfast which was part of our booking - breakfast was a bag containing a pastry - banana and a coffee - joke. Second night we were placed in our booked room - upgraded(don’t make me laugh) door did not lock - lights loose on the walls - bathroom door no handles and air on was not controllable. Complained to front desk and have been offered 25%off night 1 stay if I contact Expedia and they refund me- even that has proved impossible. DO NOT STAY HERE - NON GUEST WALKING CORRIDORS - ROOMS NOT LOCKABLE - BELONGINGS NOT SAFE - NOWHERE TO EAT - YOU WILL NOT SLEEP A WINK - AND FOR THE PRICE THEY CHARGE WITH THE BUILDING WORKS THAT GO ON PAST 6PM - it is a joke and needs to be closed down and the staff retrained
