I wanted to share some feedback from my recent stay. I was genuinely surprised to see charges for the in-room coffee pods and even for the cartons of tap water. For a property positioned at the luxury level, these small essentials typically feel like part of the guest experience, not add-ons. Charging for basics like coffee and water comes across as unnecessarily nickel-and-diming, and it impacts the overall impression of the stay. It’s the kind of detail guests remember—and not in the way a hotel of this caliber would hope. I’d encourage you to rethink these touchpoints, as elevating the in-room experience and removing these unexpected charges would go a long way in reinforcing the premium, hospitality-driven brand I know AKA strives for.

Nice property in a convenient but quiet location which was reasonably priced (until you add the "resort fee" - see below). The room was of a good size with a wardrobe which can be a rarity in NY, comfy king bed as well as a window "sofa" and table. For a six night stay, it was sufficiently spacious. In-room amenities such as a Nespresso machine and a kettle, plus usual expensive items in the mini-bar which I did not consume. Generally the staff were friendly. At check-in they did not provide details of the VIP extra which was a drink for two at the bar, I had to ask, and I didn't benefit from an upgrade. I had supper on night in the bar / restaurant - a delicious turkey club sandwich with some truffle fries. Came to c. $40 including 18% service - not inexpensive but felt reasonable for the hotel and I enjoyed it. The resort fee which I know is standard in the U.S. was less palatable - $40 A DAY. For this, they provided two bottles of water upon check-in, no further bottles (to be fair they do note this upon check-in but seems very tight given the resort fee), six Nespresso capulses (three different flavours, I only drink decaf so after they had been used, no more) and wifi access. Other NY hotels that I have stayed in at least offered daily water and Nespresso capsules, a credit as part of the fee to be used in the bar / spa, or museum tickets, or other perks. Nothing here. It felt very cheap. I would not stay here again due to this which is a shame as I enjoyed my stay.

Hotel is a bit far from Times Square, rooms are extremely small elevator is extremely small 10th floor windows. Do not open to the rooms. AC is completely shut off in the winter and you are unable to control your setting in your room because the building is set to 70° so your room can rise and heat extremely fast.. There is no complementary coffee in the dining area for breakfast. Hotel did accommodate by switching us to another floor that the windows did open room was much cooler. They did this immediately and much bigger space. Just beware of the rooms on the 10th floor . Staff was very nice. Cleanliness was great.

The room, amenities, and staff were all very lovely and accommodating, however I was unable to lower the temperature in the room due to the building being in “heat mode”. My room temperature was around 76 degrees at all points during the day even when the thermostat was turned off. I asked if the temperature could be lowered and was told they were unable to do that. They were able to bring me a fan after I called a few times due to the hot and dry temperature of the room. Not being able to alter the room temperature definitely detracted from my stay and sleeping with the fan wasn’t ideal for my nose and throat. I appreciate the staff for finding me a fan to use but I hope in the future others are able to alter the temperature of the room to their comfort.

The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful. The bathrooms have great lighting and water pressure. Gym was perfect for a light workout. Would recommend.

Dim lighting doesn’t hide the poorly maintained grounds. Carpets were dirty in both rooms ( we were moved from the first room because it smelled like mildew), paint chipped, doors scuffed, hallways dusty, air didn’t work in second room and was super loud. If it weren’t marketed and priced as a luxury hotel, I think it’d be fine. It’s more reminiscent of a courtyard Marriott or Hilton garden inn rather than a luxury hotel. We checked out after one day of what was supposed to be a 5 day stay but the property was helpful in getting us refunded.
