Indulge in an additional private dining patio next to the built-in BBQ, spanning 500 sq. ft. Ensure an intimate culinary experience with your own private grill. The large backyard grass area, set away from the patio, is the only shared space (see below for more info). Adhere to a three-car maximum for the entire property, with one car in the 2-car garage and two additional cars in the driveway.

City of Oceanside regulates how we manage vacation rentals. Please note the following:

Quiet Time Note: Quiet hours at Casa de Kona begin at 10 PM and extend until 10 AM. Guests must comply with South Oceanside's residential noise ordinance laws during these hours to respect our neighbors and ensure a peaceful atmosphere.

Maximum Occupancy: The Casita can accommodate up to 7 guests. Please note that we strictly adhere to this limit for the comfort and safety of all guests.

Security and Safety: To ensure the safety of all guests and the two homes on the property, security cameras are installed in the exterior common area, the outdoor shared space. These cameras actively monitor the property's perimeter at all times.

The house was extremely clean when we walked in! It was such a perfect house for families with kids. So many toys, games, and baby gear. The house and the backyard was beautiful and the location was prime. The owners put their hearts in to this place- they had it stocked with any and everything you could think of- snacks, toiletries, beach towels, and even an apple pie!!

The hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They had a cake and snacks for us. Their communication before and during our visit was excellent. We loved everything about the house. Every amenity was provided and the well stocked kitchen made it easy for us to prepare our Thanksgiving dinner! I especially liked the coffee “station” . There are two lovely outside areas that we made use of. There is easy access to freeways and a short drive to the beach. We would definitely stay again when visiting the area.

Home away from home

This place was perfect for our family of 7. From the fully stocked kitchen, to the exceptionally comfortable beds, to the luxurious bathrooms, we felt right at home. The backyard was a great place to grill and our kids enjoyed playing in the grass. We had a game night on the back patio. The kids loved the bunk room and had a movie night. Very highly recommend for families visiting Legoland or Oceanside! We hope to be back next year.

Getaway with friends

From booking to the time we checked out, I had a great experience. Debby was so accommodating and proactive. My friends & I really had a wonderful time. The neighborhood was so safe, the amenities in the property were carefully thought of, all needs are met. The proximity to restaurants, the beach, the Flower Fields, Legoland made it appealing & convenient. I will stay here again. Maybe my church group, and another birthday event or a simple getaway. After Christmas getaway

This home was perfect in every way. Debby helped us get in a little early due to a rental car issue. When we arrived at the house we were thrilled! The rooms were so comfortable and the beds were dreamy! The backyard area was our favorite. Plenty of seating with two heat sources and a TV as well! Most Amazing Experience

This was the best place we've ever stayed at. Perfect for a family with kids. Awesome outdoor lounge setup with heat lamps, tons of seating and tons of games. Outdoor setup with yard games, BBQ. Stocked garage with everything you need for the beach. The entire house was stocked with toiletries, appliances, utensils, and all the other random stuff you forget when you go away. We loved it, and the hosts were the best - checking in on us and providing little touches here and there. Thank you Debby and Michael... we will definitely be back!

This was the best VRBO we have ever stayed in. The most well stocked, clean, family friendly home. The back porch was amazing and such a fun place to hang out after a fun day exploring San Diego. Casa De Kona is an amazing property. The home was clean, decorated nicely and had everything we needed for our stay, including basic toiletries, kitchen stocked with all the essentials and more, the outdoor amenities from BBQ area, fire table and games galore. A wonderfully comfortable place to stay

This is our second year staying with Mike and Debby and they are by far the best hosts we’ve ever had. We have stayed at many properties in many areas but this is the most well kept, well stocked, clean, beautiful property. They have absolutely anything you could ever want or need. You are greeted with a handwritten thank you note (only property that has ever done this), a bakery treat and a snack bowl and bottled water. Their kitchen is well stocked with whatever you might need (basic spices beyond salt and pepper)! The beds are comfortable. The yard is INCREDIBLE. So many chairs to sit in and games for the kids to play. It is by the most comfortable and complete home. Their communication is above and beyond - so friendly and quick to respond. What a Blessing!

This was our first experience renting a vacation home and Casa de Kona - Casita was perfect in every way! We needed a quiet and comfortable getaway for my Mother, but also a home that was entertaining for our children and our adult nieces. The property is exactly as described, the location is excellent. The highlight of our stay was just simply relaxing on the patio, playing yard games, and enjoying meals in the outdoor covered space. Everything you could ask for was provided, the kitchen was organized and well stocked, variety of beach equipment, the comfy beds - and most importantly, the entire home was clean and inviting from the moment you walked in the door! The sweet memories we made there will last us a lifetime. We appreciate Mike and Debby; they are considerate and warm-hearted hosts who thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable. We are looking forward to staying there again!

This was the most well stocked, equipped VRBO ever. The house, the outside, the toys, games, TVs, basket of food waiting for us and the chocolate cake, oooh the chocolate cake. Everything we needed or wanted was there. Absolutely wonderful

Violation of Privacy and Poor Customer Service

Within an hour of our arrival at Casa De Kona a wire on the deck railing came loose. We planned to let the owners know prior to our departure, however when we returned home from the beach the next day to find a handyman in the yard fixing the fence, it became clear that this was a pre-existing issue that the owners were already aware of. When the same wire broke again within the same afternoon it was clear that it had not been fixed properly, so we let it be for the remainder of our stay. After our departure, the owners attempted to blame this damage on our small children and sent us video clip after video clip of surveillance footage of our family in the backyard enjoying our vacation. What a huge violation of privacy! Not only did our children not engage with the fence in a way that should ever cause it to break, but we then received this text message from the owners, " "We appreciate you not booking with us again as we don't want children who aren't trained to not play with things that aren't toys." Beyond rude! This absolutely is not "family friendly" and I would not recommend to other families with young children to stay here as you will be judged and made to feel bad about your family and children while you are on vacation. Not one other bit of damage to the property was noted by the owners upon our departure-Nothing was lost, broken, or otherwise damaged during our stay, so to have been treated this way for what is clearly a pre-existing issue is beyond disappointing!

The home has everything you need. It does have a shared outdoor area with another unit on the same lot so be aware of that.
