I booked a single standard non-smoking room but was given a twin room -- I'm guessing they were overbooked and only had a few rooms available at the time of my check in. Unfortunately it reeked of cigarettes. I went back to reception and they said it was a free upgrade. I said I didn't need an upgrade and just want a room that didn't smell. After a few minutes I was shown another room. It still smelled of cigarettes but much less than the other. There were a lot of noticeable stains on the walls and even on the curtains, but I was tired and didn't want to wait for another room. Upon closer inspection, the stains were makeup and shoe scuffs. Difficult to remove off textured walls, but not impossible. The beds and bathroom were clean though, with new linens and towels. This is the 3rd APA Hotel I've stayed at. I've never had a bad experience with my stays until this one. Thankfully I only stayed one night. Would not recommend this particular location.

Tiny room. Can barely open your suit case, can barely move around with 2 ppl. Room was made with 1 person maximum. Hotel is close to dotonbori. There is no lobby area for you to sit and lounge around.

The hotel is great especially the staff. They were very nice and helpful. The room are very small. If you have large or many luggage, this will feel tight. Just be aware that there is another APA that is exactly the same color and looks about a block away on the same street so that was confusing.

Overall the hotel location and the environment was good. But be honest the staff who working there need to improve the customer service skill. I understand the language may cause a problem, but the service and attitude at the front desk is sucks. Especially during the check in time, the way of talking is not acceptable, and showing the negative attitude. Compare to other hotel’s customer service, this hotel make us disappointed.

Standard Apa Hotel

Close to Dotonbori but not so close that its noisy. A bit of a walk from the nearest station but its doable without large luggage. My luggage broke on the way and the staff allowed me to store it until Ginza Karen opened and I could go replace it

The location was great. The hotel was old and the rooms were small. They did not let us check in early but did check our bags while we waited. There was construction going on but it did not effect my stay.
