Tiny cabin with everything we needed for a quiet getaway. Beautiful views of the marsh including a visit from a bald eagle! Bed was very comfortable.

Super fun for a getaway. Some cabins were closer to others. I think that would be my only gripe as it’s fun to feel like you kind of are alone in the woods for the most part. But it is so clean so comfy and so nice even if you stay in the winter as I did.

3 major points to be aware of: the name is deceiving (this is not at Starved Rock state park but 20 min away), if the power goes out- so does the water and Ameren Electric is not very timely, if you book thru Hotels.com then this postcard cabin group will not reimburse you if problems arise (but Hotels.com was fabulous). We got no cabin # or entry code that day but easily reached a offsite rep on the phone. She was fabulous all thru our fiasco. 10 min of bringing our belongings in then power went off. Super cold outside wirh windchill of 15°, so headed into town to wait it out, Rep kept us aware of progress. 4 hours later and no sign of repairs, discussed with the rep the fact of having to use the woods as a bathroom during the night was not acceptable. We wanted to cancel and were told that all the reservations would be reviewed and refunds determined. Returned to grab our bags and got a hotel in town for the night. Supposedly the power came back on in another few hours. Next morning another rep was in charge, who rudely told me there was nothing for them to fix, and the "3rd party" would be the one to deal with. Why were we led on to believe the company authorities would be calling to discuss it? Nothing was mentioned about Hotels.com taking care of it. Positives: great view from bedroom, very small interior but adequate for 2 adults, nice size bathroom, only sink is in kitchen, no microwave, modern decor, was nice temperature inside when we 1st got there, coffee/snacks
