One day trip to Panama

I really don't recommend this hotel to anybody. It is not a hotel but like a motel. The a/c wasn't working, there was no light in the bathroom, other guests come very late and make a lot of noise all night long, the staff is unfriendly, they advertise airport shuttle while we had to wait 2 hours and then pay for the transport to and from the hotel to the airport. The neighborhood was disgusting!!!

Well ubication, false information

Well ubicated with a lot of restaurants near, at the same time big problem at night... cars accelerating all night long by my window. I had hard time to sleep (even drunk) Breakfast was not included, and expedia says YES... parking it was only 2 parking spaces. So I had to rent it in the next block.

Nice hotel, rude receptionist.

As soon as I showed up to the hotel, I was happy that it was centrally located, but very disappointed in the cold reception I received. The lady at the front desk was not very friendly and in fact very cold and rude toward me. Also I could not believe that there is no wifi in the rooms. The rooms are nice, but no wifi was very inconvenient for me.

Cheap hotel, not for long term

This hotel is right in front of the Marriott and located between the Marriott and the Veneto. This is the location where it happens. The bars next to the hotel are very noisy and this last until 2 AM every night. Therefore I decided not to try to sleep as you could not hear yourself speak. The hotel rents per hour as well and many people use the hotel for other purposes than sleeping.

the rooms does not look nice as shown in the pictures, awful floors and hard mattress, no chairs to sit down, same breakfast everyday, no internet available does not work properly, a lot of noise coming from next door is a club and we were not notify of the horrible noise.

Bored, helpless staff

Thank goodness we only stayed 2 nights here. We arrived late at night from a long flight, we were not greeted when we got to the desk. The receptionist only managed to say "Passport", didn't even look up either. Room is very small, not what I expected. Morning receptionist wasn't any better, no good mornings around here. And when we asked for directions, she had no idea. Luckily the Marriott was around the corner and were the total opposite to the staff here, I would rather pay more next time if I ever return to Panama.

the room was very dirty. the bed linen was clean. plumbing not very good. no hot water. i would not recomend this hotel to anyone.the one saving grace was the night staff.Genesis was very helpfull.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE

the hotel itselft is a letdown, the rooms do not even have a closet, I stayed at a single room and the place didnt even have enoght room to walk through it! it was so bad that I didnt even have space to place my luggage, I had to ask to the receptionist to move me to another room DO NOT BOOK IN THIS HOTEL!

Well there was no hot water and the noise from th bar out front was outrageous, we were moved the 2nd nite to another room with hot water and the noise was a little better/

The hotel is well located! Close to major attractions and it is safe. Panama City is not a walking city, although it has a beautiful coastline with modern and new buildings. The hotel is a bed and breakfast and it is nicely renovated with a very nice patio. Breakfast is ok. The area was noisy! The surrounding neighborhood has a disco next door and there was construction to a new restaurant. It should be done in the next month so it would be better.

Not big luxury but still very nice and convenient.

Nice little hotel. Room and hallway were a bit dark for my taste, but clean and well kept. Neighborhood so-so, but centrally located, at a disadvantage due to current metro construction. Staff very helpful. Was not able to eat the breakfast but heard good things about it.

Hotel for those who don't need a good nights sleep

The room was terribly cramped. There were no windows. When the live band started their session in the courtyard at 10pm I was grateful. I struggled to sleep through the noise.

Blasting music ruined it

My disappointment with this place had more to do with problems from outside the room, but those problems nevertheless made this hotel experience unpleasant, to say the least. The room itself was ok. It was relatively clean, though the phones did not work and the staff kept promising that it would be fixed but no one did anything. On the other hand, one of the staff members was incredibly helpful and allowed us to spend an hour using their phones to make our travel plans and he even helped translate and book a reservation for us. The main problem we had with the place was the music coming from the neighboring bar. Let me preface this a bit: I am 26, I go out to bars, and I have gone through all the typical college roommate experiences, but when a club is blasting music right below your room until the morning hours, literally, it makes sleeping difficult. Also, the free breakfast is pretty much just toast and cold coffee. You have to pay 5 dollars if you actually want breakfast. It is not much money at all, but it is more the principle that when breakfast is offered for free, you actually get breakfast. We stayed at 4 other hotels in our visit and all offered free breakfasts that were an actual meal. If all the hotels we stayed at in Panama were the same, I wouldn't comment on this.

San Roque, Bed and Breakfast, is not a hotel

In my opinion this is not a hotel three stars, but a bed and breakfast. The only good thing is the location, close to 5 star hotels, good restaurants and shopping centers. The place, however, has a very poor service, the rooms are dark, with a very poor air conditioning system (Panama City is very hot and very humid). The place is located next to a bar, so it is noisy, added to the noise of the old air conditioning system, which makes it very difficult to sleep well.

PLEASANT...

The customer service there was "excellent", however 1 day I have no electricity at my room and had hard time for them to relocate me in a new room... It was not my fault that they have a problem in that area of the building, and I could not be with out electricity or AC specially in Panama where the heat and the humedity is too much to handle... Also they only have space for two cars in their parking garage.

Central location

Ideal for one maybe 2 nights maximum. Clean small rooms with a decent bathroom and good shower. Nice breakfast and place to sit outside. Beds a little on the hard side but not a deal breaker. If you want cheap and cheerful in a good location its adequate..

Horrible Hotel in a Good Location

Beds were hard. Room was incredibly small. Shower water temp was vascillated. The front desk clerk accidentally gave someone else a key to our room. The only good thing about this hotel is the location.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed, Expedia is been very irresponsible rating it with 3 stars, this is a clear 1 star and very bad room quality, no air cond. etc, terrible hotel

Good stay

Hotel is what you expect for a lower cost accomodations. Staff is good, room is standard and clean. Location is safe and convenient. Get rooms in interior as loud noise from a neighboring bar goes until 2:00am.

Pictures do not tell the entire story

My limited service was ok but hotel was just not my style. In my opinion it’s a place to stay for 1 night max and I was on vacation and it did not have any vacation amenities - at least to my standards. I'm a business professional, well-traveled, like to have fun, single father, and typical stay at 3-4 star hotels. Pictures looked good but it was very different on arrival. It may be great for college students, but will strongly not recommend for family travelers.
