One of the clerks at the hotel was not helpful when I was trying to buy a train ticket to another city in France, said do it on your Iphone, I don't know about trains. I had an Ipad, but it wasn't working well. Same clerk tried to sell me into going to CDG by taxi, said it was 60 Euros, said I didn't want to pay that much and he said how about 55?(wasn't going to take a taxi anyway)Asked about special buses to CDG leaving nearby, said he didn't know. Implied that RER was unreliable and dangerous I went for ca 11 euros, with perfectly reliable service and Parisians going to work and tourist going to CDG. Obviously a scam. Manager was helpful and courteous

Great location and friendly staff. Gave us great recommendations for dining and sight seeing. Very comfortable and quiet room with easy access to buses and the metro. Right around the corner was Rue Daguerre which is full of cafes, boulangeries and shops. Loved it for breakfast every morning.

Great Stay at this Hotel in Montparnasse

Location: Very quick access to public transportation, cafes, shops, and a grocery store.
My wife and I stayed at Villa Montparnasse for six nights. After a minor error in setting up our room they upgraded us for free to one of the few suites available. The rooms are good for the region, but small compared to American hotels. We did not experience any issues during our stay. General comments: -The hotel staff was VERY helpful and friendly and all spoke English and French. -The breakfast was good; the selection was constant everyday, changing it up would have been preferred, but it was good overall: eggs, ham, meats, cheeses, a very nice cafe/coffe maker, fresh juices, yogurts, breads,jams/jellies, cereal, etc. -Free WIFI worked 100% of the time we tried to use it and the speeds were more than adequate -Safe in hotel worked without any issues -Bed was very comfortable and had clean sheets everyday -Bathroom & shower had minor cosmetic issues but were good and functional overall with fresh towels and soaps each day -Metro stations are a block away; a grocery store was a block away as well as many shops, restaurants, and cafes. Overall I would recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again!
