Welcome to this private and cozy apartment, not shared with anyone. The space is about 500 square feet (46 m2) and all on one floor (the second floor of a 2-story house). The apartment is not large, but it is private and has a private street entrance. You will have exclusive access to the apartment during your stay.
The apartment has one bedroom with a queen bed. The living room has a sofa and a smart TV (no cable service). The kitchenette is fully functional with a small dining table. The bathroom has a shower, toilet, and sink. The apartment has basic amenities good for tourists, remote workers, business travelers, students, etc. We keep things simple and offer a competitive price. The amenities that are listed at the time you book the unit are the amenities provided. Please review this list of amenities before booking.
Conveniently walkable location near convenience stores, restaurants, bars, churches, etc. To travel to New York City via public transit (combination of bus and train), the journey takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Newark Airport (EWR) is about 60 minutes away using public transit. Near major highways like Garden State Parkway, Interstate 287, 440, NJ Turnpike. Staten Island is only 15 minutes away by car.
No parties, events, or smoking of any kind anywhere on the property -- rules are strictly enforced.
This listing does not include parking. The apartment does not have a driveway or any parking. Parking can be found on the streets and you do not need a permit to park. But, you must follow the directions on the street signs and find a legal place to park. You may not find a spot directly in front of the house and you may need to drive around the neighborhood to find a spot. We cannot be responsible for any parking tickets or violations you may receive.
Self check-in and check-out are available. There is a lockbox with keys at the property. You will receive the code to the lockbox in advance of your arrival but it will only become active at 4:00 pm on the day of check-in.
The check-in window is 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm. If you are planning to arrive after 11:00 pm, you must clear this with us. We will not be available to support you during check-in if you arrive very late at night (after 11:00 pm) and we will not offer refunds if you have issues checking in after 11:00 pm.
Please also note that this is an older apartment. The space looks like the photos in the listing and we keep it clean. It is a basic space with basic amenities. If you are looking for a functional and competitively priced place relatively close to New York City and Newark Airport, this would be a good space for you. If you are looking for a modern and luxury stay, this is probably not the place for you.
We also just want to make clear that you are renting a private apartment and not a hotel room. There are many differences between house rentals and hotels, and some newer guests may not realize it. Hotels are large and often have many rooms, and the ability to change your room should issues arise. Hotels also have staff 24/7 that can help you with every issue or questions that you may have. On the other hand, we are a small operation and manage our listings to the best of our ability. We try hard to create a good experience for guests. We are including this disclaimer here because we have recently seen a rise in guests that seem to view short-term rentals as very similar to a hotel, but in reality this type of stay is quite different. If your unit has a thermostat and the thermostat is locked, do not tamper with it or try to break open the lock. Doing so is called vandalism and is highly inappropriate. We will withhold your security deposit if you do this and possible submit for more damages depending on the situation.
Also, guests must leave the apartment in the condition they found it (e.g. no leftover food, nothing that creates a need for excessive or deep cleaning). Please wash all dishes that you use, remove food that you`ve brought in, and discard all trash. Our cleaning fee is lower than most and it covers basic cleaning tasks like washing of linens and towels, vacuuming, etc. The cleaning fee does not cover deep cleaning, excessive kitchen and bathroom cleaning, etc. Thanks for your cooperation!
If you check out late, there will be a $100 per hour fee for each hour or fraction of an hour that you stay beyond the check out time.
If you smoke, use incense, use drugs of any kind (including marijuana and cannabis) anywhere on the property including outside areas and common areas, we will charge a $300 fee. If there are damages related to smoking or drug use, we will charge fees in addition to this $300.
