The room was excellent, the staff were great, and the location was perfect with absolutely no noise. Unfortunately, while I was having breakfast, a large roach walked across my table. I ran out in shock and didn’t return to the restaurant. The staff apologized and promised to send breakfast to our room the following day, but it never arrived. It wasn’t a major inconvenience, but seeing a roach walking between my plates and silverware is, in my opinion, completely unacceptable.

Heritage property so you get feel of history while staying in top class hotel Great property location right on the bank of river Douro. Lovely views from balcony. Very good breakfast. Excellent staff and service. Will recommend to our friends and have plans to come again.

Overall Great room and super location. I did not feel though that it was worth what I paid for. Over $800 a night was excessive for the room. Had to request replenish of amenities more than once including just basic toilet paper.
