How close is Studio with Deck, Walk to Duke to downtown Durham?
Overall, the stay was alright. The check-in and out was smooth, and the VRBO was fully equipped with kitchen appliances, toiletries, linens etc. The place was fine, located in a great neighborhood and was very spacious. However, I felt that the VRBO hosts were a little hands-off - most messages were automated, and not personalized, and there were a couple problems I messaged them about that werenât resolved or addressed. For example, the first day in the VRBO was very hot, and they offered to install a second unit, which I agreed to. However, they never followed up with the offer - the place did cool down afterwards, but I never heard back about the second unit. I also found a dead roach in the bed on my second day, which I messaged the hosts about, and they offered to send someone with bug spray - and then never followed up on this offer either. However, at the end of my stay, I accidentally got locked out of the place, and the hosts were helpful in helping me get back in. Overall, it was a decent stay which couldâve been improved by better host-tenant communication.
Comfortable and beautiful home, excellent experience
This rental is beautifully decorated and is generously supplied with enough kitchen and bath necessities and good quality blankets, sheets, and towels to make a long-term stay very comfortable. The host was easy to reach, quickly responding to any questions or issues. Since I was staying here while trying to become more familiar with the Durham area, I appreciated the location, which is in a lovely and very walkable neighborhood with easy access to downtown Durham, grocery stores, local restaurants, and several parks. Because it met my needs well, I decided to extend my stay here, and I would definitely recommend this rental to friends and family, when they come to visit. Two things to consider: there are a few wooden steps to climb to get to the back deck entrance, which might be an issue for some, if you have a lot to carry. Also, you will likely hear occasional footsteps and voices from the adjoining larger rental at the front of the house. However, the host tries to make guests on both sides aware of being considerate and quiet, especially overnight, and if there is any excessive noise, he will work to resolve it.
