I definitely recommend Black Pearl if you are staying at downtown Reykjavik. It's walkable to food, shopping and Bus Stop #4 for tour pickups. The rooms are clean, the beds are very comfortable1 All the staff people are awesome! It will be my place to stay whenever I come back to Iceland in the future !!

This was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. Clean, comfortable, perfectly equipped and perfect location! The only issue and it was my mistake, is that I thought the unit had a washer and dryer. It did not but they do offer laundry service. Best place EVER!!!

Great location and wonderful staff. Read the fine print for the washer / drier and parking. Not every room has the washer. You must reserve the parking in advance. If you want to be right in the middle of everything, this is the spot for you yet the units are nice and quiet.

Fantastic location near the harbour and lots of shopping and restaurants within easy walking distance. The hotel itself is in impeccable condition and having a full kitchen and dining area with groceries nearby was also very handy. Would definitely stay there again.

When I was searching for lodging in Reykjavik, this hotel stood out as being unusually nice. As we arrived, the staff were very friendly, helpful and stored our luggage since we arrived in the morning. The units were spotless, spacious, very modern and included kitchen amenities that we loved. We were within quick walking distance to the picturesque harbor, museums and restaurants. We were also within easy walking distance of Harpa, Sun Voyager and the fun shopping and restaurants that everyone says you should see. When it was time for us to leave, the staff ordered taxis the day before to make sure we could easily get to the cruise port. This stay could not have better!

The room itself was great. The service provided by one person at the front desk was below par. Not helpful and very poor communication about the possibility of an early check-in on the day we arrived. Had requested early check-in by email a week prior and requested again upon arriving early in the morning. Of course I understand if there is another guest staying that morning. That is not a problem. We were given no indication about timing of cleaning staff and were simply told it was anytime up to 3:00 pm. There was no service provided above and beyond in this regard, as there was no attempt to lift a finger to help us. I was very disappointed by this one person. Everyone else was great, and helped to preserve a 4 out of 5 rating for us.
