Loved the location of this property, it was not right in the centre but centrally located enough to be quiet. Very walkable to centre which shops, supermarkets and restaurants nearby. The best thing about the location is that it is right next to Bus Stop 12 which is the central meeting point for all Tour buses and also convenient for airport pick up/drop off. The Beer Garden hotel bar is a cool place to hang out. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are Scandi style functional with minimum fuss. Coffee machine and pods in the room. They were very responsive to emails before my arrival as I wanted to arrange for a cake for my husband’s bday when we arrived. Room cleaning during stay needs to be arranged beforehand as it does not take place unless requested. Reception can help you book tours and bus transfers. Will recommend this hotel.

Front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. They happened to have an extra plug adapter they were able to lend to us. The only minor issue we had was that the phone in our room did not work. This was addressed.

We chose because location and friends loved the Fosshotel farther east near glacier lagoon. The Reykjavik Fosshotel was well located but not great at all: 1) Front desk staff did not simply explain to park and pay in connected lot under the hotel; 2) Could not get single server to get a drink from either bar- finally left both and tried just buying drinks from the souvenir shop and told they are “display only”; 3) Room floor was slippery with dirt, shower hair conditioner pump had lotion, not conditioner; 4) No smart TV so unless you packed an HDMI cable there are limited options; 5) ALL of the room lights randomly flipped on around 3am and stayed on until we got up and turned all off. So creepy and had to travel for 16 hours following day so not great sleep interruption. Maybe other Fosshotels are great but not this one.

A large hotel with a huge, delicious buffet breakfast. We stayed here both before and after our group tour of southern Iceland. Great hotel if you're part of a large group. The bedding was especially soft.

This hotel is conveniently located right next to bus stop #12, where the tourist bus stops. The room was also clean. The only thing I found disappointing was that the room didn't have a bathtub. Since I was staying for about five days, it was a shame that there wasn't one.

The hotel is quite expensive. Not near the main streets of Reykjavik; about a 25 minute walk. The breakfast is crowded and overcooked. The room is hot, no ac and the window is small and provided little cool air. Overall, it's just ok

Shampoo bottle in the shower was non functional. Not much in the way of basic amenities. Lacking any aesthetic appeal. Walls and baseboards were weathered. Our front desk clerk was excellent and did a very good job processing our return transportation to the airport. I would definitely give her a 5 star rating. Otherwise it was just a run of the mill hotel with very high pricing. Wouldn’t stay there again.
