Other details to note:
To preserve the serenity of the setting, we cannot accommodate professional events, parties, fireworks, or outdoor music after dark.
Pet Fee: $100 for a maximum of two dogs under 35 pounds. (As with all rural Ontario, we recommend not letting dogs off leash if you are unfamiliar with ticks in wooded areas).
If bringing multiple or larger dogs, please send us a request prior to arrival.
We unfortunately cannot accommodate cats due to an allergy.
Watercraft Use If you would like to use the watercraft, please do so with adult supervision, and ensure life jackets are always used, and boat life safety canister is present in kayak or canoe.
Road Maintenance Please note that the property is in a rural setting and while the road is maintained in the winter with a plow, we are not the only client of the plow company, and as such cannot guarantee the exact timing of plowing runs. We highly recommend winter tires and awd. While most guests have no issues, we will not be responsible if any drivers get stuck or are unfamiliar with how to handle snow covered roads.
This cottage is great. Down a gravel road and away from the highway so very little traffic passes by. Lake was fabulous for swimming. Loved the deck at the cottage overlooking the lake. Loved star gazing at night
Fantastic home - too nice to be called a "cottage" - by the lake was a pleasure to stay in. My kids and I enjoyed a full week here and were left wanting more...
Great cottage and excellent privacy. We enjoyed the quiet location and the relaxing atmosphere. I really enjoyed paddleboarding around the Bay. The view was great and we got several visits from loons which we enjoyed. I would stay there again.
Quiet and remote get away. Very nice log constructed cottage and well appointed
Covered deck was well used and comfortable as were watercraft
Sauna was fun and kids enjoyed the outdoors. Verona easily accessed and had a good beach for little ones
Over all a good experience
We were 6 adults and 4 kids for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary. The cottage was perfect for our gang. We rented a pontoon boat from a nearby marina and with the kayak, canoe, SUP, and great dock, we were able to do all of the paddling, touring, and fishing we wanted. Easy to prepare meals, and great picnic table outside for most meals (seats 10 if some are kids). Nice beds. Decently equipped kitchen. Michael is very responsive. We had one issue that was dealt with by the local property manager within a few hours. We would stay again.
Every year myself and a group of friends look for a cottage to rent for the weekend. We always end up with the same cookie cutter Collingwood cottage. I lucked out when I found Michael's place. A little further east from the GTA but well worth the drive. The Cottage is located directly on the lake and is supplied with a canoe and a kayak. The property was well maintained and spotless. It is decorated with very unique furnishings and has a home away from home feel. I highly recommend paying extra for sauna use, and then after sitting in there for awhile, jump directly into the lake. Micheal, the host was incredible, he was always available to answer questions leading up to and during the trip. We had some issues with the water pressure but Michael was quick to send the property manager over to fix it. Response time was impeccable. We'll definitely be coming back to Godfrey! Thanks again for sharing your place with us!
We loved our stay at this cottage! Michael the owner was incredibly helpful with answering questions both before and during our rental period. The cottage is beautiful. I love the modern tiling on the main floor and large wraparound deck outside. The cottage is situated on a very quiet and calm part of Thirty Island Lake. Because its on the bay the lake was quite warm and perfect for swimming with young kids, paddling and even SUP yoga. Coming from Toronto, the cottage is a bit of a drive but our group really appreciated being in a quieter and less busy cottage area. I would highly recommend. Thank you for helping us kick off summer 2019!
A nice cottage space with really neat decor. Beautiful view of the lake. Sauna was a nice bonus. Mike was prompt to respond to questions. Wish it was warmer so that we enjoy the lake and outdoors more.
As an avid user of home sharing websites, I have learned that the truth is in the review! Trust me when I say, you will not be disappointed by this lovely property. I booked it for a staff retreat for 48 hours of work and play. All attendees were thrilled with the cabin, and took full advantage of the propertyâs woodland assets and waterfront after our workshops. Micheal responded quickly to all questions, was prompt with our deposit refund, and was a warm and friendly host. The description on the website is entirely accurate, and the images do justice to the beautiful design of the cabin. Our only ask would be for more reading lights! But only for those of you who plan to do actual work or read on your holiday.
We had an amazing time staying at this beautiful cabin the past 4 days! We were a group of about 13 people and it was the perfect amount of space for us. The cabin design and decor really added to the experience (especially the hammock and swings - we loved them!). The view is also breathtaking. We spent a lot of time on the deck admiring the beautiful and quiet lake (so relaxing). We also had the opportunity to canoe and fish which was a great experience. Micheal was very kind, helpful and easy to communicate with. Thereâs nothing we would have changed about this trip. Thanks again Michael!
This cottage is stunning, the pictures did not disappoint. The cottage is clean, private and we enjoyed all the amenities provided: ie linens, towels. Michael the owner was very responsive to the many questions I had. The only problem we encountered was there was very little propane for us to BBQ our meals so we had to go out and get it refilled (we did get reimbursed for it). My children enjoyed fishing right from the dock; that was definitely the highlight of their trip. We would definitely book again.
