Beach life is better at âHappy Dazeâ! Wren Beach Rentals, a Portoro company, proudly presents this unique 3-story house located in the heart of Vilano Beach! It is just a quick walk to the beach, fishing pier, grocery story, restaurants and shops. St. Augustine is a quick seven-minute drive. With three levels of living space, and two full kitchens, Happy Daze is well equipped for up to 11 guests.
The Space:
The first floor is an efficient apartment-like area. Here you will find a small, yet fully stocked kitchen equipped with a full-size refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, and a dishwasher. The living area has a sofa, dining table for four, and a TV. There is one bedroom downstairs. It has a king bed and a full bathroom with a walk-in shower. There is a separate space to use as an office/zoom room. From the bedroom you can step right outside to the covered patio and fenced-in backyard. The 2nd floor is the main living area of the house with a spacious living room. The primary kitchen features stainless appliances and a breakfast bar with seating for four. The dining table seats six. The primary bedroom is also on the 2 nd floor and has a comfy king bed. The primary bathroom has a shower/tub combo. Off the living room is a covered balcony that overlooks the back yard. The third floor has two more bedrooms and a sleeping loft. The third bedroom has a queen bed and private bathroom with a walk-in shower. Bedroom four has a queen bed and a twin daybed. This bedroom also has a private bathroom with a walk-in shower. The loft is perfect for kids or teens, with two twin beds. There is a 3 rd floor balcony that offers great views of the surrounding neighborhood and skyline.
Youâll love entertaining your guests in the fun backyard. Here you will find a covered gazebo with picnic tables and a gas grill (we provide propane!). You can also gather around the fire pit for evening cocktails.
*Maximum occupancy is strictly enforced. Per County regulation, this house can accommodate 10 "occupants," excluding children 12 years of age or under. However, the house sleeps a total of 11.
Please note, that all guests staying at a Portoro home are required to sign a rental agreement and provide a valid form of ID. The primary reservation holder must provide a Government-Issued ID that matches the name on the rental agreement. This is a requirement from St. Johns County. All guest's names (first and last) must be provided. The ages of any minors are required to be listed. This is for emergency and insurance purposes.
Guest Access:
We offer convenient keyless door codes for self-check-in. Wren Beach Rentals by Portoro uses smart locks with check-in details provided 48 hours prior to arrival by email and text message.
âą Early check-ins or late check-outs: If the property happens to be ready earlier than the standard 4 pm check-in time on the day of your arrival, in most cases an early arrival option may be available when confirmed with the main office. Late check-outs must be confirmed with main office staff prior to the date of departure.
Getting Around:
The Town Center has a Publix grocery store, liquor store, dry cleaner, and several restaurants. You can also walk down to the Vilano Pier which reaches out over the intracoastal waterway. This is a great place to do some fishing or just watch the boats and dolphins go by. Historic St. Augustine is just a few minutes away by car. St. Augustine is the nationâs oldest city and features many shops, restaurants, museums, tours, art galleries, and more. Day trips to Jacksonville, Daytona, and Orlando are easy as well. Whether you are coming to hit the beach or stroll the streets of St. Augustine, we know that âHappy Dazeâ will be a great home base for your next vacation. Contact Wren Beach Rentals to plan your stay!

Please pay close attention to following the house rules. Non compliance could result in sizable fines.
- All guests staying at one of our Starkey Properties by Portoro homes are required to sign (esignature) a rental agreement and complete identity registration.
- Age restrictions apply. Reservation holder must be 25 years of age.
- All guests must be included on the guest list and not exceed the maximum number stated on the listing.
- Upon arrival, we aim to ensure your safety, proper access to the home, and guest features. ALL guests are required to read the house manual upon arrival. Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to Starkey Properties by Portoro.
- Known damages incurred during your stay must be reported to the property manager immediately.
- Before check in, we will send you detailed directions to ensure a seamless arrival.
- Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. Check-out time is 10:00 a.m.
- We cannot guarantee early check ins or late checkouts. When it is possible to check in early or check out late, there will be a fee for anything outside of a one hour window within our standard times. If your need for an early check in or late check out is great, your best option is to book an additional night.
- Some homes offer pools/hot tubs. There is no guard around the water features when available. Use at your own risk.
- Some homes have cameras for external monitoring only.
- Stays over 29 days â please inquire separately for terms and conditions.
- HOTEL TAX COLLECTION: Both St. Johns County and the State of Florida require all hotel and vacation rental hosts to collect hotel tax. We collect these two taxes within the booking transaction. The state requires 6.5% and the county requires 5%.
- LONG-TERM STAYS: (Snowbird, long-term rental). Contact Wren Beach Rentals by Portoro to discuss if a long-term stay discount applies to this listing. Stays over six months are waived from paying the State and Local Hotel Tax. However, there are additional fees we need to collect for damage coverage and housekeeping. In compliance with our policies for long-term stays, we need to collect an additional cleaning fee for guests staying longer than 3 weeks. Your Guest Ambassador will coordinate the cleaning schedule for a minimum of once every 2 weeks. You can request cleanings more frequently if desired. Additional cleaning charges will be sent using a payment request or resolution request, immediately following the cleaning. Your guest ambassador will reply shortly and be available to assist you where needed.
- This is a No Smoking property. Penalty fees for violations will apply and you may be asked to vacate the premises with no refund at the discretion of the Host.
- This home is pet-friendly. Please note, only dogs allowed and 50lb weight limit, up to 2 dogs per stay with the following guidelines. (This does not apply to service animals):
- $225 for the 1st pet, $125 for additional pet per stay. These fees are non-refundable.
- All breeds accepted
- Pets must be responsive to owner commands, stay off furniture, and not bark excessively.
- Pet owners must pick up and dispose of pet excrement in the provided trash receptacles.
- Pets are not permitted anywhere on the premises unless prior approval is obtained.
- For the safety of guests and the home, there are noise monitoring devices. These devices only measure the decibel level and do NOT record any audio.
Interaction with Guests:
Wren Beach Rentals by Portoro communicates via email and phone. After a booking is confirmed, rental agreement will be emailed to the guest for e-signature. Check-in instructions are sent by email and text message 48 hours prior to arrival date (keyless entry). We offer convenient keyless entry for self-check with no need to stop in at a local office. We do typically check in with guests by email/text 1-2 times during their stays to ensure a 5-star experience and remain available for any questions/inquiries. We are available to guests 24/7.

Our crew had three adults and seven teens (and our Labrador retriever) for Spring Break. We had an amazing time and plenty of room for everyone. Walking to the beach and Publix was super convenient. The place is full of charm and fun details that truly make you feel immersed in the beach vibe. Kitchen is well stocked (having a separate kitchen for the teens was brilliant), and we enjoyed many meals together on the main floor. House was clean and well-kept (some dishes felt dirty, but that happens in a rental with so many dishes and utensils and itâs easy enough to wash before use). Front porch was perfect for rainy afternoon and the puzzles kept everyone busy when we couldnât hit the beach. Our dog loved the backyard and we all took advantage of the multiple deck levels when the weather permitted. Rental team was responsive and friendly, answering promptly any questions we had. Check out was the easiest weâve experienced. Everyone truly enjoyed their stay, and we would definitely stay here again.
The house was clean and spacious. All our guests had their own bathroom which was great! Our pup loved the backyard too. Perfect location and easy walk to the beach. Highly recommend!
Good location however we felt the house was not as clean as it should be. Traveled with 7 month old and could not put her down on floor as it was very dirty. Anyone walking barefoot ended up with very dirty feet.
Perfect number of bathrooms and bedrooms for our group. Having two kitchens for a large group was handy too, as we made Christmas brunch. Only wish the house had been decorated for Christmas
The house was fantastic! It was so clean and had everything we needed. The location was great- a short walk to the beach and a Publix right around the corner. When we had questions, they were quick to respond and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Beds were very comfortable and rooms were spacious. We loved all the porches and back yard!
The location of this rental is AMAZING! We did have some issues while we were there, but Teddy came to check on us and the company made everything right.

This home was a great fit for our family vacation at the beach. We had two couples and another adult with two young teenagers. The layout of the home made it very spacious for everyone to have their own area but yet come together on the second floor. The backyard was great for our two fur kids as well. They had plenty of space to run around to exercise. We also enjoyed the backyard for cooking on the grill.Being able to walk about five minutes to the beach was perfect, especially to see the fireworks. The nearby coffee shop was a nice break, and having Publix within walking distance was nice as well.The drive to St Augustine was about 10 minutes, so it was a perfect day trip. Fishing from the Vilano Pier about 5 minutes walking distance from the house was relaxing.Communication with the host was always quick and friendly. You won't regret booking this home if you're looking for a place that is roomy and close to the beach.
To say we enjoyed our trip to Vilano beach was an understatement. We loved the how spacious the house was and how close the beach and Publix was. The fenced in back yard was beautiful and great for our fur baby to enjoy and that is a must when we take vacation. I highly recommend & we hope to be back sooner than later!
We stayed at this property recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. The layout of the house is perfect for a big family. Location is fantastic- walking distance to the beach and close to Publix and other shopping and restaurants. Short drive to downtown for Nights of Lights. Highly recommend!!
We had an amazing family vacation in this home! It offered plenty of space, comfortable beds, and a fully equipped kitchen. The location couldnât have been betterâwithin walking distance to fantastic restaurants, Publix, and the beach. I highly recommend this home for a large family or group getaway. We had a wonderful stay at this rental property! The house was exceptionally clean and well-maintained, which made it feel very welcoming. It was incredibly spacious, easily accommodating our large group with plenty of room for everyone to relax and enjoy. The location was another highlightâclose to key attractions and amenities, making it convenient and ideal for our needs. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a comfortable and well-located place to stay!
We had a lovely stay this past weekend. The location of the house is perfect- less than 5 min walk to the beach, publix, and a coffee shop. There were 7 of us in total but the house could easily sleep more. I wish we were there longer so we could have enjoyed the house even more. We would definitely stay here again!
It was a great stay and an amazing location. Basically 10 minutes away from all of the tourist hot spots and a 5 minute walk from the beach and the inlet.
