Nice, clean hotel and staff was very nice. Not much in the area around the hotel. Also, don't count on using the massage chairs as there are only 3 and they were routinely full.

Niwa is easily accessible from several Metro stations. The breakfast buffet is satisfying for both western and Japanese tastes. The property is relatively new and well taken care of. The public areas are spotless. There are small spots of beauty inside and out. The rooms are adequate, beds are comfortable, and baths are well maintained. Storage in the rooms is extremely limited, so you have to pile your belongings on every available surface and live out of your suitcase if you stay long--I was there for a week.

Nice hotel and room, good breakfast, convenient location. Unfortunately, other guests enjoyed free breakfast buffet while we (Travelocity-ticketed) folks paid $28/person each morning for same for our 9 days at Hotel Niwa. Thanks Travelocity for extra $756 in unfair charges! Travelocity itself unwilling to correct our booking, unwilling to refund onerous extra breakfast charge, even while offering "room w/breakfast" rate at same price as "room w/no breakfast" rate on its web-site during our stay.

Very quiet and clean room

Pros: quiet, discreet, privacy, away from noisy traffic and tourist traps
Cons: thicker glass window to block out the noises from subway that running by every 10-15 minutes
Location: this is area is known for schools and universities. There are nearby Japanese eatery within walking distance.
This hotel is prefect for those who just want a top of line, quiet, clean and away from the typical tourist traps. The room is large in size compare to other rooms and price in Tokyo area.

Very small, poor sound proof.

Pros: Breakfast
Cons: post quiet hours, drunk guest were talking very loud on the hallway after midnight waking me up.
Location: good, 7 min walk to train station
Small room, had problem trying to put 2 medium size bags. Dusty and webs on the nightstand area, breakfast was good with comfortable bed. Window shade wasn't dark enough, woke up early when the sun hits. Can heard people talking on the hallway, wall have no sound proof. Information desk had maps and tour info. Will charge extra 2000yen if you don't check out by 11:00am Will not stay here again due to the size of the room, I did moved to another 5 star hotel nearby for the same price and the room is much bigger.

Good location, close to transit

Location: Like I mentioned before, the Tokyo dome is within walking distance, as is the Imperial gardens and the contemporary museum of art.
Hotel Niwa is walking distance from the Tokyo Dome and Tokyo Dome City and 2 train stations (Suidobashi and Jimbocho) are a few blocks away. There are tons of restaurants and small bars along the main street a block away. The neighborhood seemed safe and clean (it's right next to a university and a high school) and I never felt insecure or lost. The staff is extremely courteous and knowledgeable and the hotel itself is very very clean. The rooms might feel small, by American standards, but they're fine. I had a Full+ size bed in my room, a wall mounted TV, and a desk and closet. The bathroom felt a little cramped, but the fixtures seemed new and the place was extremely clean.

Awesome Escape from the rush of the city!

Pros: Free Internet, Quiet, comfortable, value
Cons: no late night public transportation
This hotel is perfect for the business and leisure traveler. The hotel is located within 100 yards of a subway and JR station. The staff are excellent. Many speak English, which is not common in Japan. The hotel is super comfortable and clean. The rooms are not huge, but have that traditional Japanese feel to them (traditional decor, but modern amenities.). The hotel is located in a quite part of the city, so if you are looking for a party atmosphere, you might want to look in other parts of the city. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Japan and hope to return again.

Wonderful Hotel

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
A little off the beaten path, but close enough to a train station in Tokyo. The hotel staff were wonderful and very helpful. The all spoke very good English and just made you feel very welcome. The rooms are small, but comfortable and very clean.
