Nice basic hotel in the Akasaka area of Tokyo. We stayed there for 4 nights in a double twin-bed room. We found the hotel's very convenient. The subway is just down the street in an area with lots of restaurants. Front desk staff was very courteous and spoke good English. We payed 1,600 yen (per person) for the daily breakfast buffet, which was well appointed. Room was, not surprisingly, small, but the bathroom was a decent size. The two beds were joined together and there really wasn't much room to move around. There were no closets, so we were glad to be only traveling with carry-ons--otherwise managing our luggage would've been even more of a struggle. The beds were OK. On the harder side, and felt like fancy rollaways more than real beds, but we managed to get some sleep. The pillow was very hard and flat, and we ended up asking for a second one each. Since we were sightseeing most of the day, it suited us just fine, but those traveling with lots of luggage, or if you're a big person, you might want a different space.
