We loved our stay at Cliffs Edge Retreat! It is a beautiful ocean side resort with its main lodge and restaurant (Forager) and collection of cottages. It is conveniently located around 45 minutes from St. John's and only 30 minutes from Ferryland. We stayed in the main lodge in an ocean view studio suite, which was modern and beautifully decorated. The full kitchen was very well equipped, which we appreciated as we prepared several meals during our two night stay. Our end unit suite (L12) was located across from the laundry room and next to the exit door to the outdoor sauna, so we did hear some noise at times, but it wasn't too bothersome. Our balcony had a beautiful view of the ocean, but it was partially obstructed by one of the oceanfront cottages across the road. Suites L5, L7 and L9 would likely have the best balcony views and are located far enough away from the entrance doors on both ends of the hallway. There is a limited menu at the Forager Restaurant (which you will walk past to access your room). We didn't have a meal there, but their baked goods and coffee were excellent.

We had trouble finding the office at first. It is at the Forager restaurant. The rooms were great, large, comfortable and modern. Parking was easy. Staff was very friendly. They were very amenable. They gave the room we booked away but upgraded us to a room with a view. (Unfortunately there was a hydro pole in the middle of our view.) Dinner at the Forage restaurant was great. The only downside was the cost of the prepared sandwiches which we bought the next day for lunch (43 dollars for a smallish baguette sandwich with Brie, and another Caprese one with tomato and cheese). All things considered, it was a great stay and we would recommend staying there.

This cabin is pretty close to perfect. The private sauna is spectacular. The private deck and hot tub are outstanding. The cabin itself is cosy and incredibly well appointed, down to binoculars and games. The only thing that was missing is a patio heater. We would have liked to stay outside and look at the millions of stars for longer but it gets pretty chilly at night.

What a gem!

What a gem! The location of Cliff's Edge is the true winner but everything here is top notch! I just stayed in the lodge, but the room was perfect.....decor, fireplace, kitchenette. And loved the shared sauna....wow. I ate a small meal and desert at Forager and food was terrific. Highly recommend to stay here.

The Cliffs Edge Retreat is a beautiful spot to just get away from it all. The rooms provide a quiet and relaxing atmosphere, with all the comforts from home. The oceanview is spectacular. There are Adirondack chairs on your own deck. Barriers provide privacy from the neighbors and a shelter from the wind. There is a small kitchen equipped to cook adn has a full size fridge, (if you want to do that on vacation). There isnt a lot of options for breakfast, so I'd recommend bringing breakfast items. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer.
