Relax and unwind at this charming duplex apartment for 6 with gorgeous views over Lake Como.
This beautiful, 2-bedroom retreat has been sensitively converted, retaining loads of character and original features.
The spacious living room, to the left of the front hallway, manages to be grand and cosy at the same time. It has two double sofas and some traditional wooden furniture, plus a large flatscreen TV. The painted, beamed ceiling is delightful, as are the other touches around the room, including the coat of arms painted on the chimney breast. Doors in the living room lead out onto a private terrace to enjoy the view.
Across the hall is the separate dining room, with a large wooden table and six chairs. The room has traditional wooden dressers and a brightly painted fireplace (closed up). The well-equipped kitchen is off the dining room. In it, you will find a large cooker with 6 burners and 2 ovens, a white butlerâs sink, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine and washing machine.
The two bedrooms are on the first floor, reached via a stone staircase in the entrance hall. They both have private balconies with lovely lake views. They share a bathroom off the landing.

Location
The apartment is in a quiet, residential part of the village of Azzano, near Mezzegra, just a 10-minute walk from Lake Como. On the western shores of the lake, the property offers stunning views across Como and the mountains.
There are many beautiful palaces, villas and gardens to visit nearby, including the famous Villa Carlotta (a 6-minute drive). You can take a ferry from Cadenabbia (a 7-minute drive) to Bellagio or Varenna.
If you are looking for more excitement, then head to Lake Como Adventures (10 minutes drive) for a wide range of activities including climbing, canyoneering, hiking and skiing in the winter months.
If the delicious local restaurants and trattorie inspire you to try your hand in the kitchen, the local farmers\' market in Mezzegra takes place every Friday morning. Here you will find an abundance of local fresh fruit and vegetables, cold cuts and artisanal cheeses. There are local fresh markets in towns all along the lake nearly every day.
Milanâs international Linate airport is a 2-hour drive from the apartment, and Milan Malpensa airport is 1 hour and 45 minutes away.
The apartment was very clean. We had 2 standing fans which helped at night .
Parking is very tricky ,
Getting our compact station wagon in/out was very challenging . It is a gorgeous location and amazing views from the windows . Keeping the back windows open helped with cool down at night .
We were there during an extreme hot spell so initially no air conditioning took some adjustment . It is all uphill walk to the apartment on old stone steps, then more steps up to apartment . Not for anyone who has walking issues .
It is a little walk from car to apartment . If that parking is full , we had to park farther down the hill .
The instructions to get to it and getting in were excellent .
Bring bug spray in the summer , we all got multiple mosquito bites .
Overall a lovely stay , very close to many things .
Historisches Haus in Top-Lage, schlechte Ausstattung, miserable Agentur
