"The classiest hotel in midtown — classier than The Plaza. If you are looking for old world New York, this is the place to stay. My wife and I stayed for one evening for our wedding anniversary and the staff were very helpful. The breakfast is exceptional, too. Spending money at The Pierre is well worth it. Enjoy New York the right way and stay at this property!"

"This was the worst accommodation experience I have ever had. Per instructions, I informed mgmt that I'd be arriving after regular check-in hours. When I arrived, there was no one at the property. When I called the manager, I was informed that I'd have to meet her at the train station several blocks away to get the keys. I informed her that I'd preferred not: I was a senior citizen with back problems and didn't want to be schlepping luggage in the dark. I was told it was the only way to get the keys, so I did. The manager did not accompany me back to the property, and when I tried to use the key to my room, it did not fit. It was downhill from there. It was a nightmare--emphasis on night. I was put in an unsafe situation, and had to make arrangements to get to another safe and clean hotel. Note: The property description on Expedia disclosed that there is no elevator. However, it fails to mention that there are two long flights of stairs. My room was on the third floor. These people are unprofessional to the tenth degree."
