Have you ever woke up in the morning with an opera sang by Gondoliers? If not, this is the place to be! The gondoliers singing the songs when they are floating by this part of the canal, right under the window of this characteristic apartment.
Located in a privileged position in the heart of the ancient Venice, this incredible location with great views, quiet side-street in front of the Fenice Theatre, is a place you will remember forever.
The apartment is furnished in a typical classic venetian architecture. A large and bright living room, one double comfortable bedroom, a bathroom and a kitchen well equipped, dishwasher, independent heating, air conditioning, sheets and towels, WI-FI and TV.
In just a few steps you arrive in San Mark Square, Ducale Palace and Rialto Bridge. All around there are restaurants, cafes, boutiques, museums and art galleries like Accademia Galleries and Guggenheim Gallery. You can visit also the ancient Scala Contarini del Bovolo or in 20 minutes walk you can reach âLa Saluteâ church to enjoy the panoramic view.
From your apartment you have direct access to water taxies and gondola boats for a private tour around the city, or you can take the vaporetto ( a public boat transportation) in the nearby stop.
On certain dates of the year, visitors must pay an access fee of EUR 5-10 per person per day to enter Venice. Those with accommodation in Venice are exempt from paying this. Guests must however request an exemption voucher in advance and present it with an identity document on arrival. To check affected dates, fees and request an exemption, visit cda.ve.it/en/.
This place was great! Check-in was fast and painless, and it's right around the corner from some great restaurants! I almost felt bad that it was just two of us in such a spacious place. We- well, I- enjoyed the early AM seagull fights and the sound sof boats down the canal.
Great location, Great property with no working AC and LOTS of mosquitos!
First the good, this is a great property in an excellent location. The space was clean and comfortable with great views and lovely serenades from the gondoliers that sail by.
The kitchen is small but very functional. I made the best chicken soup I ever made in Venice! The bathroom was excellent with great hot water and water pressure.
The bad- Refrigerator was not working when we arrived and was finally replaced the day before we left. With ice as a premium in all of Europe we had to go out anytime we wanted a cool drink or ice.
The reason I would not stay here again- The air-condition does not work. We set it at 16 Celsius and it never got anywhere near that temperature.
We where told we really didn't need it as it gets cool at night. We were told to open the windows. We did. We had too as the AC did not cool. While it was warm at first when we went to bed it would cool off as the night wore on. The problem-mosquitos. Lots and lots of mosquitos. We are covered in mosquito bites. They provided 2 small Vape mosquitos devices that I am not sure did anything.
So our choice was to sleep in a warm uncomfortable apartment or spray on mosquito repellent every night to go to bed. We choose the repellent. As the summer continues this problem will only get worse.
There are too many other places to stay where you will not have to choose between being hot at night or being eaten alive by mosquitos.
I would not stay here again.
First, I want to commend Lorenzo. He was fabulous in meeting us, getting settled into apartment, making taxi arrangements, and answering my calls. Thank you, thank you!
Now, the apartment. The major problem is the air conditioning - thereâs only one unit so the bedrooms never get cool. Plus every morning when we woke up, the air conditioning had stopped in the night. The second morning it would not restart for some time. Lots of messages with Lorenzo (thank you) and we finally got it working. It would be beneficial if there were fans in the unit to circulate air. (Opening windows not an option due to mosquitoes.). Then, unit does not support normal adapters for electrical. Thereâs one adapter in the kitchen which we used, but putting at least one more in the unit would be nice. Then the unit isnât very tidy. We needed to use the freezer, but it hadnât been defrosted for some time. I had it defrosted within an hour so canât understand why it wasnât already done. Then the floors behind doors, nightstands, etc all had debris. Baseboard in the living room loose from the wall.
The question I always ask myself in writing a review is would I recommend the apartment to a friend or rebook in the future. Unfortunately, my answer is no.
A charming fantastic apartment with wonderful canal views! We cooked dinner and listened to the Gondoliers singing as they sailed by our windows. Simone welcomed us as we arrived and was super helpful and kind! It is also a wonderful location as we walked easily to everything! This place was perfect for our family!
