Hali'i Kai is a gated community located in the Waikoloa Beach Resort area,
approximately 18 miles from the Kona Airport.

Several discounts are available.

Our Hale, unit 13, includes fold-a-way Panoramic doors, replacing a traditional sliding glass door that only allows minimal views and access. When these panoramic doors are open, there are unobstructed oceanfront and coastal views.

Our Hale, which was a showcase model for the Hali'i Kai Mahana Design, includes approximately 1,100 S.F. of living space, as well as a 125 S.F. Lanai. There is tile & engineered hardwood flooring throughout, black-out window treatments in each En-Suite bedroom with privacy doors. Both bedrooms have a deep Ultra-Plush Orthopedic foam mattress. There are flat screen televisions and ceiling fans in both bedrooms and living area, with high-speed wireless internet.

The well-equipped kitchen includes stainless steel Sub-Zero refrigerator, professional grade Wolf cooktop, oven and microwave, Bosch dishwasher, coffee maker with bean grinder. Also, available for your use are Binoculars and a small Telescope, misc. games and books.

Available for our guests: Beach and pool items, snorkel gear (including fins), beach chairs, beach umbrella, Beach throws and towels, Boogie boards, cooler with cold packs. Tennis & Pickle Ball equipment, Basketball and Golf putters.

Also, the Hale has conveniently close parking for two cars (tandem parking). Additional guest parking is close by.

The Hali'i Kai Ocean Club features a large multi-level swimming pool, a heated spa with a pebble bottom and a beautiful workout facility with oceanfront views. There is a private restaurant with poolside bar, and also a BBQ'ing area. Tennis, pickle, and basketball courts are also available at the resort. Hali'i Kai charges a MANDATORY $25 resort fee daily per unit (not per guest). The resort fee is paid directly to Hali'i Kai at check in. This fee allows access to the Halii Kai complex amenities including the pool, towels, restaurant and fitness center located within Hali'i Kai. The Ocean Club is a 1-2 minute walk from our Hale.

Just a short distance away are the Kings and the Queens Shopping Centers with a wide range of restaurants and a complete collection of shops, galleries, boutiques, grocery store and a wine tasting room.

This is our go-to lodging in Kona and this has become our favorite unit.Lovely unit, very well maintained, with a well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. They have everything you need, including boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrella, towels, and snorkel gear. There is usually oil, spices, and some other basics in the cabinet - this time there also was some rice and various other things. Coffee provided, as is a selection of teas.The view from the lanai is unbeatable - we saw whales and enjoyed watching the waves. The pool and pool club are great for food and drinks, and lounging. 49 Black Sand Beach is a 15 minute walk along the shore.

Outstanding property with stunning ocean views and sunsets. Unit was beautifully appointed and amenities were plentiful. Hosts provided everything needed for the beach and other activities. The location of this unit could not have been better. The club house, pool and restaurant were nearby, and two shopping centers were a short drive away. Amazing location

Absolutely Perfect

Everything about this property is perfect. Location can’t be beat. Property amenities are ample. Restaurant and pool are right around the corner. Order the green beans. Trust me. The hosts have just enough of everything you might need to make the stay easy, sunscreen beach things, simple everyday needs that you hate to buy and leave behind. Fantastic condo rental

This was my second time staying at this condo, and both stays have been fantastic. This unit is very well appointed and includes everything you may want or need. The lanai is tastefully decorated, the outside fan is wonderful to help stay cool, and the views are mesmerizing. Shaded parking is the icing on the cake. Highly recommend.

Wonderful Visit to the Big Island

My wife and I chose to celebrate a milestone anniversary staying in Doug and Vicki’s oceanfront Hale. A welcome basket of snacks greeted us as we arrived. The location and unobstructed view directly to the ocean could not have been better. The two large windows in the master bedroom also faced the ocean. Whale watching was a daily event from the lanai. There was a sense of peaceful privacy. The kitchen was bright and had modern appliances. We didn’t really do any cooking, but we could have with fully stocked pots pans, utensils, silverware and glassware. Ocean Club access which included a very nice restaurant with weekend live music, pool and exercise facility were a great convenience not to mention just a short 2 minute walk from the front door. Beach equipment including chairs and towels were provided. We would highly recommend this Hale. Book early, it is very popular. Mahalo Doug and Vicki for your thoughtful hospitality.

We have been to the Big Island several times, never stayed at Hali'i Kai but finally gave it a try. Definitely very impressed. This unit is amazing! Extremely clean, can't even explain how clean it is, couldn't even find a spec of dust anywhere. Also the unit is very well equipped, it lacks nothing anyone would need. And of course the ocean front was perfect. Should also mention it is extremely quiet, couldn't hear any neighbors. The resort is lacking nothing, the Ocean Club is a huge plus. Excellent visit and we would not hesitate to book again.

Perfection!

My wife and I just completed an all too brief 4-night stay at this fantastic property and couldn't be more pleased. The unit was beautiful and so well-appointed with the highest-end appliances, art work, furnishings etc. Exquisite fold-away doors to the lanai provided an unobstructed view of the coast and ocean, and were so much nicer than the typical sliding doors on other units. The property was immaculate. Every amenity you could want was there, along with special touches such as fresh coffee beans with a grinder for those cups of coffee on the lanai watching the spectacular sunsets. Doug & Vicki were highly responsive to any questions I had before or during our stay - typically responding almost as soon as I hit the "Send" key. Believe all the other positive reviews about the jaw-dropping view - building 13 is one of just a few in Hali'i Kai with this direct ocean-facing view. I only wish we were there during whale watching season. The property is literally just steps away from the Ocean Club which has a very nice pool. Despite being so close, there was no noise or other activity heard from the unit. Lunch and dinner are also served at the Ocean Club, but we chose to take out a few dinners from there instead since it was so nice eating on the lanai. We did lots of touring around the Big Island and found the location of this property to be excellent whether going down to the Kona area, or up to the amazing beaches and vistas to the north. Five Stars all around!!!!

Oceanfront gem

My mom and I spent five nights at Doug and Vicki's condo, which lived up to the hype from prior reviews. It's beautifully furnished (I love the art) and fully equipped (tip: look into the little closet adjacent to the kitchen for spices and such). The A/C worked well when all doors and windows must be totally closed. The lanai and primary bedroom offer great views of the ocean and Haleakala on Maui. However, due to the large amount of lava and sacred sites, you can't actually get close to the water. If you go around the ocean club next door (great pool!), you can reach a trail. If you go south, you'll reach the Ocean Tower at the Hilton Waikoloa in about 15 minutes. The trail north is very dicey and not for the faint of heart. Since there is no beach nearby, we drove to A-Bay, Hapuna, and Mauna Kea. Doug and Vicki were extremely responsive, sometimes responding to our questions in minutes. The only issues that we had were the *very* firm beds, which are high off the ground, which was an issue for my mom. The bed pillows are pretty flat and need replacing. We'll definitely consider Doug and Vicki's condo the next time we're on the Big Island. A few friends saw my photos and were interested, as well.

Great unit in a great complex

We have stayed at several units in this complex and this is one of the best! The oceanfront location is stellar. Everything in the unit is clean, in good condition, and well organized. The beds are comfortable and the pillows were great for us, with a variety of thicknesses. The pantry has some staples and there was plenty of laundry detergent and dish soap. The lanai does not have a bbq but there is one at the nearby pool club if you want to grill. The kitchen has high end appliances and is a great place to cook. I would stay in this unit again in a heartbeat!

Great location and great property

This location was perfect with a fantastic, unobstructed view of the ocean and lava rocks. Drinking coffee in the lanai with that view was amazing. The pool and gym were so close and we went over nearly every day. We also used the tennis court often, which is only a 5 minute walk away. The home was already stocked with oil, salt, pepper, etc
which is so helpful after a long flight into Hawaii. The two bedrooms are separated so noise was never an issue. Everything was clean, well furnished, and in great condition. We loved our stay at this home, and communication with the owners was fast. Thanks for a great stay and we would easily stay here for our next Big Island vacation.
