We rented this apartment from hotels.com for a week during house construction. My initial impression in the first 24 hours was mixed/one of concern because the assigned parking for this apartment is compact, surrounded by other ‘compact’ parking spots filled with SUVs, which made parking stressful and I could not connect with anyone within the first 24 hours because we arrived on a Sunday. Additionally, the apt was missing some of the basics like soap in the kitchen and bathroom. However by the end of the week, I would rate 5-stars minus the parking. The apartment is walking distance to the metro with many good restaurants nearby including Thai across the street, Lena’s, Rustico, so we walked to dinner, walked to metro, rarely used the car. Beds were comfortable. Smart TVs required us to create a Samsung account before logging into Netflix. Residents and neighbors are friendly and the dog community is a real highlight- lots of friendly well-socialized pups in the area made my dog very happy.

Unacceptable!!! That is the best way to describe our experience. We booked a 3-day 2- bedroom stay in Alexandria, VA in January. I needed a full kitchen to prepare a large meal. Less than 24 hours before our arrival we were contacted that our unit was unavailable. We were given the option of a refund or two 1-bedroom units in Franklin Park Apartments at Greenbelt Station, MD. This increased our commute by 30-60 minutes each way. We opted for one of the apartments and made other arrangements for the rest of our party, but I still needed a kitchen. The unit at Franklin Park was, as Landing admitted, not unacceptable: Here is a partial list of issues: fridge did not work. Balcony door could not be locked. Tub spout had no diverter, so no shower. Spout was replaced with hose connector. Towel rack was partially torn from walls. All walls and floors were dirty. Bedroom carpet had chewing gum residue in 4 spots. Second TV did not work. WiFi did not work (we pirated the next door unit WiFi, which used the same password). In addition, neither the app nor the website allowed us to connect to our account. I contacted the company after our rental and provided the same feedback. I said that I would post an honest review, but wanted to give them an opportunity to respond and decide how they wanted to rectify our experience. After that phone call: no response. No refund. No apology. What promised to be a great experience turned out to be an unacceptable disaster. I cannot recommend Landing.
