The space
Welcome to historic downtown West Chester, PA. This freshly renovated historic home boasts 2 Queen bedrooms and 2 full baths, sleeping 6. Amenities and accommodation await behind the lavender door. This home is nestled on one of the most desirable blocks in the borough that boasts 260 years of history. You are immediately welcomed into the primary living room of the home, with a bright and airy ambiance, accented by a fireplace focal feature. This area of the home is bathed in natural light and an ideal place to unwind after your day of perusing the bevy of local shops and restaurants afforded by this borough locale. The traditional floor plan transitions into the formal dining room with seating for 6, and onto the spacious kitchen. With all of the conveniences of home, in addition to holding ample prep and storage space, this area gives you the comfortability of creating your own culinary delights throughout your stay. To the rear of the home you will find the recreational comfort of the second living room. Unwind with a movie, challenge others to a board game, or start your day with a book and espresso pairing. No central air conditioning. Garage was tiny. Lots of things were loose and not attached. No measuring cups in the kitchen- there were a couple of steps on stairway to bedrooms that need repair. Beware it ca vibe very loud by front bedroom due to proximity to bars. The upstairs bedrooms can get very hot. Towels were great but host needs to spend more time on details for kitchen and have laundry soap available if thee is a washer and dryer on premises that a renter has access to.Over all it was ok- but with more attention to detail it could be so much better. I probably won’t stay here again as the drunks from the downtown bars were obnoxious at 1am

Please be aware that the ultra thin windows make it difficult to sleep in the master bedroom because the main street is literally just outside and you can constantly hear the roar of engines as cars drive by and the hooting and hollering of college kids going out on Friday and Saturday nights. I struggled to get any rest even when I had ear plugs in and ended up sleeping on the couch at the back of the house instead. Also, the floorboards were pretty creaky so made it hard to move around the house without waking everyone.The property is otherwise in a pretty convenient location and was well-kept for such an old structure. Host gave clear instructions for how to get into the property.

Historic lodgings in West Chester, PA - this newly renovated home was a very comfortable place to stay while we were in town for a family wedding. It has all the amenities needed plus it is located within walking distance to many good restaurants in the borough. We toured Valley Forge too which is close by. You can’t go wrong staying here. The owners did a great job with the renovations.

One car garage Parking on property very Convenient and safe. Kitchen is Amply supplied with covenient mobile Island. Plenty of hot water for showers. Bedrooms are clean and comfortable. Just walk out front door ,turn right and you are a block and a half from a very occupied uptown area with indoor and outdoor eating.

The location of this property was perfect - we could walk to eating and shopping in West Chester. We also appreciated the secluded feel of the back yard. As long as you are comfortable climbing stairs (it is a historic home that includes somewhat steep steps to the bedrooms), I would definitely recommend this home!

Great stay in a great location

This place is very well kept. Check in was super easy. Kitchen fully stocked with everything you would need and love the coffee machine. Location is primo as it’s within walking distance to many restaurant and bar choices. Garage parking is a nice feature as well. Highly recommend this property.

Excellent Historic Home

The only thing that I was not clear on was that the 2 bedrooms are up some pretty steep stairs. This home is a well renovated historic home so it wasn't a surprise. It was not a problem for us but we are older and you just need to know it. We were there for a family event and didn't take advantage of being downtown, the kitchen or the courtyard. It was very nice, comfortable and the garage was a plus. We would stay there again.

Truly wonderful

This property is immaculate, renting for the second time. So many reviews make reference to the responsiveness of the owner, but we have never had such excellent responsiveness and consideration as from Derek. Recommend this property without any reservation. Best possible location, walking to wonderful restaurants every night.

Cute row house

Quirky fun row house right in town. Nice furniture, comfortable beds, modern bathrooms. Garage parking is kid of tricky but very helpful as street is time-limited. Kitchen is modern unit a bit thin on utensils. Very comfortable. Note that bedrooms are up some windy stairs so not appropriate for mobility limited folks. Street noise in the front bedroom was annoying on weekend (it’s a college town) but fine otherwise.

40th High School Reunion

My wife and I were so fortunate to find Derek’s perfect rental home in downtown West Chester. We were coming back for my 40th HS reunion at Teca and we wanted to find a spot that would allow us to walk into town. The home was perfectly located, very clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. Derek provided detailed instructions and great local recommendations.
