The house was lovely and worked great for our two families with teens. Our only issue was this was not a true ski in/ski out situation. It was very cumbersome to get on and off the mountain. Otherwise everything was great!
This place has plenty of room for 3 small families to spread out and be comfortable. The private hot tub and garage were really nice to have.Everything worked well and there was plenty of good communication with the management company. I was able to arrange early check-in and late check-out which really helped reduce stress about getting everyone out the door by 10am.One minor gripe is that it even though it is right next to the Corridor run between Mary Jane and Winter Park, it is really not ski-in / ski-out. It was about a 5 minute walk through the woods and up a bunch of stairs to get to Corridor, which is a tough catwalk for snowboarders to get to the Gondola. Also, kids need to be able (and willing) to ski down Mary Jane to get back at the end of the day. But if anyone is not up for the walk it is really easy to cash the Green line bus to Winter Park; it stops very nearby and comes every 20 minutes.
The condo was huge and well maintained, Ski in/ski out is as described and not really the best option for us. One of our guests was a non-skier so we had a built in chauffeur to drop people off right by the gondola, which was incredibly easy and fast. Management was always available via text and very helpful. One small tip if you arrive at night - the functioning key pad is on the door (not on either side of the frame). We had a frantic couple of minutes trying to get in! :)Overall this, is a terrific unit and a great location with very responsive and professional management.
I cannot say enough great things about our experience at base camp 490! Our extended family of 11 had plenty of room to spread out throughout this home during our seven day stay. Our ages ranged from 8 years old up to age 70 and there were plenty of beds, bathrooms, and accommodations for everyone to spread out and feel comfortable. The property manager was incredibly responsive via text when we had some minor issues with the Internet and accessing the code on the front door, both issues were resolved very quickly. The property had everything we needed in the well stocked, high end kitchen to cook dinner in at night, and our kids spent so much time at the end of the day in the hot tub. It was wonderful having two washers and dryers on the property during the week. Having two parking spots for our rental cars was key, including the heated garage. There are also three working gas fireplaces throughout. A tip for anyone staying here when it comes to accessing the slopes: we found it easier to walk up the back hill and staircase to catch the âgreenâ Corridor Trail down to the base each day, but we caught the Green Line shuttle on the way home from the village since our condo complex is the first stop on the shuttle route. It is worth noting that the only way to get to the âgreenâ Corridor Trail *while on the mountain* is via some very challenging âblues.â Something to keep in mind. Overall, everything about Base Camp 490 was wonderful. Very convenient, clean, warm, and cozy!
The condo is lovely and laid out very well for hosting large parties. Our family of 10 fit very well although I wouldn't have many more. The condo had everything we needed and was perfect for our family vacation. Although we didn't ski in or out, we did walk to the lifts a few days which is easy as long as you are not in ski boots. My only partially negative comment would be that you are used to sleeping in darkness, bring a sleep mask. The window coverings are very transparent, and the rooms are very bright at night. Other than that, no issues at all! Property managers were great.
Very comfortable town house, plenty of room to spread out and relax. Large round dining table, great for meals and family games. Not exactly ski in/out. More like short walk in and out, up road, between houses to short trail that leads to metal steps and Corridor Trail. Access to trail is via Mary Jane which is not a beginners trail, more like a moderate blue.
House itself is in excellent shape, not showing wear and tear common to many ski rental houses. Kitchen well equipped, beds comfortable though pillows could use refreshening. Plenty of towels and amenities. Large screen TV in family room along with chess table. Heated garage and driveway nice touch, too.
Would stay again if opportunity allows.
This house was exactly as described. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of storage. There were plenty of bathrooms. The great room was comfortable with a ROKU TV and the kitchen had everything you would need for your stay. Unlike many rentals, the house came stocked with enough TP, dishwasher detergent, dryer sheets, etc. that we didnât need to buy any of the basics besides paper towels. The grill was clean and was plumbed into the natural gas line. The hot tub was a great 103 degrees every time we used it after skiing with beach towels supplied for your convenience. The best part, of course, was the ski-in/ski-out location with only a short walk up a path and stairway to a trail leading to The Gondola. The walk into the village was only a half mile so you could definitely enjoy the area without a car if necessary even though thereâs plenty of parking for two cars and the HOA keeps the neighborhood well-cleaned of snow. I highly recommend this rental.
Our stay at this Winter Park resort property was wonderful! Our adult children and grandchild were able to spread out and be comfortable. The furnishings were top quality, the heat worked superbly ( important because of the single digit temps last week!), the kitchen was spacious and well appointed for family meal prep, and the neighborhood was quiet and picturesque. I wouldn't classify this as a true ski in ski out situation, however. Also, we were told humidifiers would be provided for each of the 5 bedrooms and none were. This feature seems like a no brainer at this altitude and we all were negatively impacted by this omission. Overall, A++ on cleanliness and timely response from management when needed. We loved that gorgeous copper clad dining table!! We're already in the planning stages for our next trip to Winter Park!
Perfect spot for our family of 9. Wonderful location and condo offers so much comfort. Well stocked kitchen and we did lots of cooking. Also we put hot tub to use every day. Thank you!!
