It would have been better if there had been ski boot/ski carrying wagons available at the slope-side condominiums' entrance in the morning.

Very good room, slacker employees

Nice central location, room was pretty nice overall (except for sofa), and smaller kitchen than expected, beds very comfortable. Only major complaint: staff very laid back, not very good customer service for the price paid, more interested in talking on their personal phones while you sit there and wait...could use some basic hospitality training.

Not perfect but can't beat location

Pros: Free Internet
Cons: no housekeeping, no services/amenities
Room wasn't totally clean (random water bottle top here, other little items there) and housekeeping not included with room. They did provide extra shampoo, towels, trash bags when requested. Our 3 bedroom had its own washer and dryer, major bonus. Was here 10 years ago and it seemed way more spectacular. Now it's completely fine but nothing out of this world. Location is THE BEST part of this hotel for skiing. Period.

Room interior items are 10 years old and run down.

Pros: location to lift
Cons: No free Internet, condition of some of the units, poor cleanliness, poor front desk service, poor house keeping response, poor management
Units are individually owned and it is up to each owner to keep them maintained, which some are not investing back into their properties. Our unit was original furniture and appliances, putting everything at 10 years old. The stove only had 3 of the 4 electrical burners working, and the ones that were working were not level. The unit was not cleaned properly upon our arrival. There was a dirty towel hanging on the back of the door and a dirty glass by the sink. Carpeting was rippling between the kitchen and bedroom. Beds were sloping to the middle. The management had issues between housekeeping and the front desk. There was no tracking of requests. They just use their walkie talkie, make a request, and that's the last the front desk is involved. No follow through. They have VHS tapes for movies at the front desk - very 1980s, even though our unit did have a DVD player. The front desk staff let my 9 year old check out American Pie. After going back down to the front desk to get a more appropriate VHS tape, we came back to the condo only to learn the VHS player was not hookup to the TV set. Additionally, there is no wifi internet in your room. If you want to connect to the internet, you have to go sit in the lobby. This resort is relying on it's location for rental customers and has no incentive to maintain the units to luxury standards or provide excellent customer service. The advertised gourmet kitchen doesn't even provide their guests with salt and pepper. You have to purchase it yourself. If you want a guaranteed luxury experience, do not stay at the Zephyr.

Really enjoyed our stay.

Pros: Quiet
Cons: no nighlife
My husband and I stayed for a week and did some skiing. The staff was great and the village was very nice. We stayed in a mountain view room that overlooked the village. I would recommend looking for the humidifier in the room if you are used to the dry climate. Also, if you are looking for nightlife, go somewhere else. There is no nightlife. Pretty much everything except a few restaurants and the ski rental stay open late. If you want any type of nightlife you can catch the shuttle to town. It is about a 10-15 minute ride. You can catch the gondola up the The Lodge at Sunspot on Friday and Saturday nights, but you need to make reservations. Internet access is free, but there is no wi-fi except in the lobby. You have to use an ethernet cable provided in the room.

Not happy at all.

For being the highest price per night we have ever paid to stay any where, this place is way over priced. The place was the cheapest built condo I have ever seen. The doors were shabby and did not close right, the windows did not open and it got warm at night. It was just very cheap construction. Above that, when I pay $* A NIGHT to stay somewhere on a vacation I expect to be able to sleep in if I fell like it. Construction started outside with heavy equipment every morning before 8:00 a.m. One morning at 7:05 a.m. When we talked to the front desk about it, they said that the construction was not supposed to start till 8:00 a.m. Which never happened. Having been in the service industry I know darn well they could put in the construction contracts to not start at least till 9:00 a.m. The mountain and snowboarding at Winter Park were great, along with the service from the people related to it.

Summer travelers note- no AC! Hot, uncomfortable and poor service

Staying mountainside sounded wonderful for my two young kids as part of a family vacation. The slopeside activities rock and the kids had a ball. The room was nice but NO AIR- there is supposed to be one fan (we had one room separate from the pull-out bed- needed a minimum of two fans). There was no fan in the room and we waited most of an evening for one to arrive. Service is slow, at least in the summer. The room never cooled down despite our measures, the beds were harder than the floor and we checked out early so we could get some sleep at a hotel. Would stay in a hotel in the summer; winter stays might be entirely different.
