Ski in / ski out family friendly condo w/access to pool, hot tub & game room

This nice 1 bedroom condo at a ski-in/ski-out property located at the corridor run connecting base of Mary Jane to the base of Winter Park. It features a queen bed in the bedroom and Murphy queen sized bed plus a sleeper sofa in the living room. A full bathroom with tub and shower combined. A fully equipped kitchen with full size oven and fridge with built in microwave makes meal preparation easy. Taking a quick lunch or mid-day ski break is a breeze while staying here. A dining table for 4, in living room you will also have a chimney and a door to your private balcony.

For Winter reservations:
Iron Horse is located on the corridor run that connects the base of Mary Jane to the base of Winter Park.
This corridor run (marked as a green run on the trail map) is about 1 mile long. Base of Mary Jane sits higher (elevation wise) than base of Winter Park.
From Iron Horse you ski down 1/4 mile to base of Winter Park, and to ski home you must go over the Mary Jane saide to catch the corridor run. Iron Horse is located 3/4 mile down the corridor run from Mary Jane.
To get to the base of Mary Jane, you will have to be able to manage a blue trail. (just fyi)
You do also have the option to use the free shuttle offered by Town of Winter Park. Iron Horse Resort is on the “green line”

Make sure you bring your swimsuits as this complex offers a year-round indoor/outdoor heated pool and two large outdoor hot tubs in addition to a fitness room with steam rooms and showers.

The unit provides two parking passes. Garage parking is for one vehicle on a first come first serve basis. There is a lost pass replacement fee.

For added convenience a full-service ski shop with rental options is located on the property. Washers and dryers are available on the second floor of the D building. Level 5 in the D building provides a room for ski storage and ski-in/ski-out access (green corridor). The free Lift bus also picks up frequently at the main entrance for easy shuttle service to the Village.

There is common ski storage located on the fifth floor of the D building, in the back of building near the doors to the corridor ski run. However, locks for rack are not provided. If you would like to buy a ski lock to secure skis here, you must go to front desk and they are available for $35. Note this specific lock/rack combination does not work for snowboards.

For our fellow mountain bike lovers: we are very sorry, but management does not allow bicycles stored inside condos or on balconies. To prevent mud and chain oil damage to our carpets, as well as handle bar scratches on the walls; we must kindly ask you to not store bikes inside the condo. We are working with the HOA of all our properties to figure out bike storage in the long term as our mountain sports grow in popularity. Thank you for your understanding.

Please note if you are arriving by train, there is no facility on-site for luggage storage.

Winter Park Resort is only 0.6 miles away and the FREE resort shuttle will drop you off right in the middle of the resort base village which includes the lifts for skiing/boarding/mountain biking, snow tubing, hiking, ice skating, shopping, dining, scheduled entertainment, and other attractions including several summer activities.. The Foundry is just 4.6 miles away with bowling alley, movie theater and brick oven pizza bar. Safeway grocery store at Fraser is just 6.1 miles away.

Nice little spot

Stayed here for 2 nights over July 4th. It was surprisingly quiet for a holiday weekend. We weren’t in the house much, but it was a good place to shower and sleep. Pretty close to town. Overall a nice home base for adventures in the area.

This was our first trip to Winter Park, so we didn't know what to expect. Iron Horse was in a great location to access the gondola. Our son was a bit bummed that the pool wasn't operational, but the unit was clean and comfortable--good for a family of 3.

If you'd like to go back to the 70's stay here. The unit is pretty dated, everything from the old electric stove to the refrigerator that froze our food to a dishwasher there's no way you can run while you're home - it's sooo loud!

Great location- easy access to the base

Great stay in Winter Park. Ski in and ski out, but map out your ski out carefully. Comfortable sleeping arrangements as listed- queen bed in bedroom, queen murphy bed, and full size pull out couch. Loved being able to come home easily from the slopes for lunch. Enjoyed the hot tub each day after skiing. Easy walk to the base if you aren't skiing. Loved the covered parking. Quick drive to town for more dining options. Communication was quick and easy. Very easy to park and get into the condo.

Could use some basic things

We have stayed at iron horse before and the location is great. But this unit really could use some simple things that would so some pride and respect for the price people are paying to be there that would be very inexpensive. A set of kitchen knives for food prep, a Roku or Google tv to let people stream, a set of glasses of reasonable size. It doesn’t take much to make a guest feel comfortable but this place felt like no one cared. If I was the property manager I would make the owner invest a small amount. As a vrbo owner ourselves we understand value and this was just thoughtless.

Great ski location

Iron Horse is a great base for skiing Winter Park/Mary Jane. The building is older but very quiet and has everything you need to enjoy the mountain. Garage is heated and the building is a short drive to Winter Park base or town.

Perfect location for a fun ski weekend!

This was a perfect place to stay to have underground parking and direct ski access. There is plenty of space and have great extra amenities. Very clean and the owner was extremely friendly and helpful.

We had a lovely stay at the Iron Horse in Winter Park. The condo aesthetic is dated (exactly as the photos are shown), but it is still charming and very clean. The instructions for check in and out were very clear and easy. Unfortunately, the hot tub was under maintenance while we were there but there was still a warm pool available if desired. The condo facilities were very nice and clean, and it was very quiet. The access to the mountain is a very short walk right behind the condo, and the ski run that connected us to the base could be seen from our room. Overall good experience!

Nice Location

We loved the ski in/ski out location on the mountain, with access via the trail Mary Jane, to the Corridor. The ski lockers, available to store our skis, was right at the entrance to the ski bridge that accesses the ski run. We enjoyed not carrying our skis back and forth. Once we realized where the Iron Horse Resort was located, in comparison to the Village,it was easy getting around. I have to say, we did arrive when it was dark and snowing heavily, it was hard to identify exactly were we were.

Our stay was nice. The condo only had one TV and very small. Another TV would have been nice. Also, another chair in living room would have been helpful. It was clean.

Okay rental

The condo is dated, but the location (within walking distance to Winter Park) is great. It needs some repairs and has limited kitchen set up (few pans, dishes, and no plastic ware for storage). Bed in bedroom needs replaced - very soft and you roll to the middle. Great to have indoor parking, and amenities would be good if you have young kids. It depends on what’s important to you.

Nice and quiet place

Loved the condo. It is at the end of the hallway away from the lift so it is very quiet. The view is nice framed by a few aspen trees and spruces. Kitchen is well equipped. Bedding was very comfortable. Add to it all the amenities of Iron Horse and Ski-in/out location - and you will have a perfect place to stay at Winter Park.Would definitely stay again!
