Pros: Close to Hauptbahnhof (though you need to carry suitcase up stairs in front of hotel) | Comfortable bed | Power sockets were in the right places | Complimentary water | Included breakfast from cafe next door was tasty Cons: No reception after hours (though there is an emergency phone number) - should have been notified of after hours access code prior to check-in | Safe could be more modern (but it did the job) | Interior is a bit old - USB power sockets could be installed

Hotel’s location is ashort distance away from the train station. Passageway to the hotel was dimly lit at night, but not a problem. Only difficulty was in finding hotel’s location on the 1st day. Good baslc breakfast from nearby bakery.

We were unaware of an airport shuttle? Arriving after 8:00 p.m. was a bit difficult. We were, however, finally able to follow the steps to open and get our keys. It was very helpful that a young couple was coming out and could help us. Also thoughtful and helpful was an envelope with our name with a key! It seemed very early to have no staff available. Next day staff person was wonderful and we enjoyed our stay.

Arlette Hotel was one of the more affordable hotels in Zurich that I selected. PROs: Within 5 min. walk from the Central Train Station and Landesmuseum. Warm welcome from Jacob, and nice chats + tips from Manfred, a friendly resourceful young man. Room has everything that a single travel needs. AC is available despite non-avail. listing. CONs: Room is old. AC is noisy. Bathroom needs more lighting. Bed is placed near table - be sure to move bed away or you'll bump your head on the table edge. Buffet breakfast is temporarily UNAVAILABLE despite listing. I was issued a daily voucher with SAME menu per day at the next-door Cafe with some non-English speaking ladies - that means just ONE coffee, ONE everything, NOT a buffet. This hotel losts one star due to this.

Convenient Stay at Hotel Arlette am Hauptbahnhof

Hotel Arlette is a small but clean hotel, perfect for a short stay in Zürich. The location is excellent—just steps from the main train station, making it very convenient to explore the city and travel around Switzerland.

The front desk person Jakob was very accommodating. He allowed us to check in before 11 AM! He also allowed us to borrow a hot water kettle. Check out is also later than other hotels. It is at 11:30. There is an available elevator, although small. Hotel is a bit old but is very close to the main train station, Zurich HB. Approximately 6-7 minutes walk. Hotel is also close to old town and the new area where you can go shopping. Close to restaurants. Will definitely stay again if we are in Zurich. Highly recommended if you want to stay close to action but in a much quieter location.

Went to hotel, was given a room on the inner courtyard. Then I opened window as room was hot. What came in was cigarette smoke. Went to front desk and found out it is a shared courtyard, and some residents there smoke. They didn't have any other rooms. At least they refunded payment, but don't waste your time with this place unless you like breathing cigarette smoke.

Great Location

Lived the vintage vibe and location was great. The front desk attendant was very nice. The room was small but clean and comfortable and even had a mini fridge and a fun vintage radio. There is a small elevator which is helpful if you have luggage. The price was great too and included breakfast with some eggs and bread and a coffee. Would definitely stay again.

Clean, Convenient, and Centrally Located

I saved money when I walked into the hotel. The gentlemen behind the desk showed me how to travel wisely and to purchase tickets to attractions separately. If I would have booked on typical sites which feature things to do, I would have spent double what I spent. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was light but filling. The location is in walking distance from Central Station. You will thank yourself for staying here.

Property is well located close to the main Zurich train station, trams and the Limmat River. Nice simple breakfast. Internet service was great. Rooms & bathroom not large. What wasn't great was I needed to loan an adaptor for euro plugs to Swiss power plug & was charged 20CHF for 1 night ( nearly AUD $40) - can buy them for 7CHF but we got caught without one.
