The property was generally in good condition, could use some updates in the rooms, bathrooms. The toilet did not flush well. another safety bar in the shower would be a good addition. The staff seemed pleasant.

Questionable

We were given our room keys, but they didn’t work. When we went back down to the front desk, the office worker laughed. He gave us the wrong room number. The floor outside the elevator had food mashed into the carpet when we checked in and it was still there 16 hours later when we checked out. The elevators stunk of some type of oil or grease. Like they had been in the shop?

We could not stay in room , my wife has asthma and the musty odor was not safe for her to spend any time in. They did not have any other rooms so we checked but were refused a refund . We have stayed at many Hampton Inns and always satisfied but this was a bad experience.

I have stayed in many Hampton Inns over the years but I have to say that this is the nicest. The lodge feel to the property is very well done and what most people would be comfortable with in a place like Lake Placid. In addition, this hotel is in a great location with beautiful views of the lake, great amenities, and very convenient to walk to Main Street with all of its shops & restaurants. Last but not least…. The staff is extremely friendly & helpful.
