My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay at the Coral Hotel. We've travelled a lot in Europe and North Africa in the last year, but this has been our favourite hotel.
The staff were friendly and always happy to help. For my girlfriend's birthday they provided us a free cake - it was huge and we each got 4 servings out of it. They also gladly reheated some leftover food we had and collected a parcel we had delivered.
The food at the hotel is also excellent. We only had one evening meal in the restaurant, but it was full of flavour. The breakfast buffet had a lot of delicious options, both sweet and savoury, including plenty for vegans. We always looked forward to that and since the breakfast is located on the top floor we could eat next to a stunning view of the sea.
The room we stayed in had a beautiful sea view and was regularly cleaned. Unlike some hotels we had recently stayed in, we with provided with plenty of bottled water and toiletries, including for brushing teeth and shaving.
There is also a pool on the top floor that stays open late. It's a little small but it is heated and we were able to relax there around 11 one night.
The only slight downside to Coral Hotel is the location. It's next to a busy road, which can be noisy if windows are open. While the building is right by the coast and you can get to the beach quickly, it is a little more difficult to travel further around Athens.
