Foire aux questions
How close is MSB Gracia Pool Terrace Center to the airport?
MSB Gracia Pool Terrace Center is 12.3 mi (32-min drive) away from the Barcelona El Prat Airport (BCN) airport, the closest popular airport to the property.
The staff was very nice and courtegios,I did have a very pleasant stay there, everything accomplished my expectations , I recommend the new management and there effort to make MSB a better place to stay
If you go with an open mind to this property you will love it. You are paying for the location- and it is worth it. A little bit of TLC is required for some of the cosmetic. But it ticks all the boxes for clean and as two female travellers we felt safe.
The apartment was well kitted out, had a fabulous rooftop area and was close to all the places we wanted to enjoy (harbour, Gaudi architecture and La Rambla).
We didnât see the pool - but didnât look for it too hard either.
We would definitely go back. Would love to see the owner put up fairy lights and a few plants on rooftop area. We thought it was the heart of the property.
Engraved on the windows of the entrance were the words 'Tourists go home' and the property was hardly more welcoming. (Could they not have replaced the glass??) The apartment was tired, the aircon did not work (it turned itself off every few minutes.) The sofabeds appeared broken, the worktops were scratched. There were flies everywhere. We complained and asked to move. But the person couldn't (or wouldn't) offer a refund so we could move. Afterwards, we stopped bothering complaining and just cracked on with the break. We were running out of time in Barcelona. I would not recommend this. Shame, as the area is nice, the property is actually decent, but the upkeep and customer service was atrocious.
At first glance a nice apartment but at a closer inspection we could see that the cleanliness of the apartment was not ok and there was water damage in the bathroom. Over all the apartment felt run down. Beds were not comfortable and there was no light in the internal stairway in the apartment. The couch was worn down and uncomfortable. We were only given one key via an app in the smartphone. Very noisy street outside and thin walls.
The apartment was on a street with screaming and yelling and partying from 1am-5am. An interior room might be quieter.
The check-in was the most annoying check-in i have ever had in my life. If you are young and tech-savy with a back-up phone battery then it's fine but you essentially have to upload your passport to a portal that glitches. Pay a damage deposit then they issue you a bluetooth key. The bluetooth "key" didn't work and it was 40 degrees and i had to call the company who THEN manually gave me a code to enter (after i was waiting outside trying to trouble shoot with my older parents and young child) meanwhile they could have given me this codein the first place. if your phone dies, you will be locked out of this apartment. There's no front desk so if you need to pick up a key, it requires transportation to and from the other office location.
This apartment is NOT suitable for anyone with mobility issues. It has a spiral staircase and the photos do not represent how difficult this can be. Warning to any families with young kids or elderly parents.
Additionally, day1 my sink was clogged and i had a man in the apartment working on my sink on day 2 of my holiday.
If this apartment was 'a steal' i could understand why anyone would choose to stay here, but given that the advertised price is more than the what you would pay staying at a beautiful hotel with a front desk, professional staff and closer to the city centre, I really don't know you would book this.
Finding the checkin was terrible, not the slightest information was given where to check in before reading several reviews online when standing right in front of the apartment complex. Then had to walk several kilometers before checking in and walking back to the apartment itself.
We were told to give the deposit as mentioned when booking. Got a bill for this, signed by the worker at the check in. Until today (3 months later) not the slightest information was given to me, not even a payback of the cash. Contacting the staff/apartment management did not bring the slightest benefit until now.
The beds were way too hard for the person travelling with me, she had to move to the couch in the living room to grab a little sleep. This couch was not even cleaned the slightest. Vacuuming seems to be too much for the staff. The floor was covered in dirt and in the furniture were several holes caused by cigarettes.
For staying some nights it was OK but not even the slightest of good.
I frequently use Expedia for bookings and this is the worst experience I had.
1. Expedia does no clearly state that there is no flexibility and cancellation. My daughter (8yr old) accidently made a booking while we were looking at potentially visiting Barcelona. I called Expedia and the hotel within 5min, while the payment and confirmation had not been received by My Space Barcelona - even then they did not cancel or change dates. My wife did not have a visa and even though we only used the place for 2 days they charged the full 4 days. The policies of My Space are non-professional, extortive and unhelpful.
2. You will need to pick the keys from a separate location. I was traveling with young children but they refused to meet me at the apartment.
3. The security of the apartment is compromised with broken window latches
4. There were loud noises and shouting in the street all night. Did not allow my children to sleep.
5. The furniture is not useable and very very dirty - the mattress had large stains and we used our own sheets, which we had taken as a precaution after reading reviews. The utensils were dirty and stained.
6. cleaners arrived before 11am and the apartment rules require you to dispose of trash in the bins down the street yourself
7. The security deposit is larger than the one listed on Expedia.
8. Other than 2 people the staff attitude at My Space is rude/unhelpful
9. The apartment is not as per photos on Expedia
10. Internet does not work throughout apt
I was pretty disappointed with this hotel/apt for the money paid. Possibly it was priced up because it was the Spanish Grand Prix F1 weekend. I think for base rate between a bunch of people it's fine and you get what you pay for. Any more and you can do better else where. It's a convenient location in Gracia, but expect to be woken up by drunk people all hours of the night (on the streets, the building itself was quiet). It's best to stay here if you're one of those drunk people. There was no soap or shampoo provided. There was only 1 roll of toilet paper. No bottled water, paper towels, etc provided. At least there were towels! The mattress is pretty junk, nothing like what you'd get in a somewhat nice hotel. The couch was pretty stained.
The big issue was that I never received the check in email from their management partner so I showed up at the door and had no way into the unit. It's just an apt building, no front desk. Luckily a guy staying there came by and called the management company on his local cellphone. I then had to spend about $25 cabbing across town to their office to pick up key cards. Not a great start.
Also note, they will charge you separately and additionally for cleaning which wasn't stated on the reservation checkout (only local tax was stated as a separate payment).
