Barouche The Second of the Stone Carriage House
One of 3 separate homes in a building that was once a coach house. Barouche is the largest with over 2000 sq feet of space. It can accommodate 6 people but a maximum of 4 adults. It is located steps from Main St Picton. It is quick walking distance from theater, music and great restaurants. One can easily return home after a busy day and enjoy a glass of wine or cross the street for craft brewed beer. The County is known for its scenery, food and wine as well as Sandbanks Park. This home, as well as the 2 other homes in the carriage house, come with a pass to the park which will guarantee entry even on the busiest days. Everything is provided in all of the units. Sheets, towels, barbecues ect. Unlike the other 2 units, this house does not have a porch but rather a hidden bijou back garden. The charm of this and the other 2 properties is its historic features, antiques and yet the modern comforts of home. This unit is the most rustic of the 3 and one can see many of the original features of the home though they are also seen in the other units. The stone bedroom was actually the hayloft! A sofa bed in the small sitting room upstairs would work for a child (ren) but would not work for another adult as it is a walk though to another bedroom. The Stone Carriage House is unique in that it would allow friends or family to be together but have a bit more privacy. This unit can be open up to connect with Curricle as there is a bolted door that can be opened. Please see the other 2 homes in the Stone Carriage House as each has its own personality. All of the properties come with a Sandbanks pass. There are no hidden fees just tax (ie no cleaning fees, laundry fees ect).
The Carriage House Barouche was a fantastic place to stay with its location, available parking, and courtyard. The rooms were large and had lots of character. The amenities were great,-the dishwasher a bonus. The owner Susan was very pleasant and available. Hope to be back soon.
Tom and Cathy
Great place, area and host. Place was very large and clean. Restaurants and stores in walking distance. Iâm satisfied. I recommend it as great place to stay.
Everything about this property is the best. Location, accommodation, cleanliness, setup... There was no a bad thing to mention or to improve. Please keep it up! We enjoyed our few days stay very much and will make sure to come back and recommend to anyone looking for proper home-away-from-home experience.
Thank you Susan!
I enjoyed my stay with my husband and 2 adult children. House was even more spacious than expected. Comfortable, clean and well located next to Picton Main Street.
Positive: Good location and spacious home. Owner answers questions very quickly and the check-in and check-out process is simple. Linen provided.
Negative: bathroom and toilets very clean, but could be better. No curtains on the windows so difficult to sleep.
The property is well situated in Picton, close to restaurants and shops in Picton. It is a beautiful historic property, and that comes with interesting quirks. The kitchen is not new and fancy, but everything works, and it is well stocked if you want to do your own cooking. Lots of beautiful antique furniture. The beds are very comfortable. Susan was lovely to talk to and most helpful. We loved our stay there.
Older, quirky property. Everything we wanted for our stay. Walk to town center of Picton and drive anywhere in 20 mins. Sue was great and the price of rental was very fair. Would stay here again.
I canât tell you what an awesome place this was to stay at. The owner was fantastic. The house is over 150 years old and has been beautifully kept. It has everything you could ever want and the location is amazing. The pictures do not do this place justice. I canât wait to come back.
We looked around at so many places to stay in PEC and finally settled on this spot - and we couldn't have been happier with our decision. This place was so great! Easy checkin, clean, with everything we needed. Highly recommended and we'll definitely be back.
We had a wonderful stay! Beautiful, old home with lots of authentic touches but also great modern amenities - air conditioning, comfortable beds and lovely bedding, SmartTV and wifi. Would definitely stay again!
Barouche -Stone Carriage House is a beautiful well kept period home steps from main street Picton. We were able to walk to restaurants, grocery stores and even Tim Hortons. We made good use of the Sandbanks pass that came with the rental and enjoyed Outlet Beach. Susan met us on arrival and was very helpful. We hope to return sgain
