The Jasmine Terrace Retreat: elegant and quiet apartment in the city center

La Porta Rossa is located at the heart of Bologna, a 5-minute walk from Piazza Maggiore, in a quiet street, in one of the most unspoiled areas of the center of Bologna. The apartment is in the context of a renovated and elegant building and is elegantly furnished and equipped with all the comfort, specifically made and finished in order to be destined to be temporary rented. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, large living room with sofa bed all for you exclusively. Oriented toward the inside part of the building is completely quiet and peaceful. It also has a large terrace with dining table. Equipped with air conditioning, very fast wi-fi and complete with washing machine and dryer. In the living room there is a large screen television. The building has an elevator heading down to the floor of the parking space. You can park in the garage at the daily price of 25 EUR plus city tax of access to the LTZ of 6 euro for entry. From the station, the apartment is a 15 minute walk, otherwise you can take one of the many buses that travel along the nearby Independence and Marconi streets. From the airport we suggest to take a taxi which cost does not usually exceed 25 euro. The presence of a garage allows easy access by car.

My family and I had an absolutely wonderful time in Marco and Guiseppina’s place. They were incredibly helpful with understanding the area and offered plentiful tips to live like a local during our time there and were always available for communication. The apartment is fantastic - clean, spacious, good AC in the hot summer, absolutely fantastic artistic taste and well stocked so you can make pretty much anything you would want in the kitchen. The location is perfect, right next to the center, but tucked away from the crowds. We loved exploring the surrounding streets, so so much in walking distance. We spent every night on the incredible terrace that i miss so much already! We hope to be back. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Wonder apartment, great host

The apartment was just as described online. It was immaculate. Everything you could need or want for a stay was there. The balcony was delightful for sitting out and enjoying free time. The location was so convenient for sightseeing and shopping. Giuseppina was a thoughtful and caring host. She sent information about the city and her offers to arrange dinner reservations or secure a driver were so helpful. I would highly recommend this location if you are going to Bologna.

Giuseppina and Marco went out of their way to make our stay perfect. From making dinner reservations for us and making sure the basic amenities were all provided in the flat (from coffee to bottled water and extra toiletries)

Great host Great location

The Jasmine Terrace, a straight forward 18min walk to Bologna Centrale, and was our jumping off point for day/overnight trips to Florence, Milan, Rome, Ravenna and Venice, and a comfortable rest point in between. Even just walking around Bologna, window shopping, walking to various squares, and poking into nearby museums was enjoyable. The spacious apartment was well equipped and worked well for 2 couples. And we enjoyed the terrace whether for a morning coffee or evening dinner. Our hosts were welcoming and gracious, and we recommend!

The Red Door

Giuseppina & Marco are great hosts, met us at the apartment and made sure that we had everything they needed. They also organised a taxi/van to collect us from the airport and to return again at the end of our stay - this included a baby seat for our baby! They also helped with our itineray visiting sights of interest and a food tour and a cookery class. Plus Bologna is the best-kept secret for an Italian holiday, so much to do and such friendly people. Very relaxing. The Red Door is in a great location and the access to the patio area was a great bonus. OK overlooked on all sides - but this is genuine city living and amazingly quiet. Look no further book this place the hospitality industry could learn much from this experience!

3 days in Bologna en route to Dolomites

Perfect location and most gracious host made our stay fabulous. The host provided an extensive list of attractions, restaurants, cafes, markets, museums, and gelato shops. A food market where locals shop is only steps away. There is also a pharmacy, and dry cleaners. The main piazza is very close. We would love to come back again.

Conveniently located within minutes of all attractions, this super friendly apartment was as described, quiet, clean, excellent ac and with facilities of laundry, kitchen, two bathrooms and large outside patio. The best place to stay in Bologna

If I could give Giuseppina one million stars, I would. The place itself was stunning. Beautiful art she has collected fills the apartment, making for a gorgeous place to return to after a long day. The apartment was incredibly clean and all amenities worked perfectly. The location was stunning, with beautiful frescos from olden days right outside the door. The recommendations she provided for food and activities were fantastic. Her kindness was immense, she has such a warm and welcoming energy. When we made the mistake of accidentally locking ourself out of the apartment, she solved the problem for us quickly and we were able to get back in without a hitch. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Bologna, definitely let it be here. This was the most positive stays my family has ever had. Thank you for everything Giuseppina, it was truly spectacular.

The best in Bologna!

We had a wonderful stay at Giuseppe and Marco’s apartment in Bologna. They were great hosts… communicative, responsive, and helpful. Very lovely people! The apartment was spacious and well equipped. We loved the furnishings and design. The outdoor patio was also very nice. It was also really convenient that they had parking available in the building, since we had a car. We hope to come back and stay here again in the future.

What a perfect property, fantastic location, lovely patio & the property is immaculate. The hosts Guiseppina & Marco could not have been nicer or more helpful with all aspects of our visit. They provided a huge range of information on museums, attractions, art galleries, restaurants & transport. They also made reservations for us at a local Trattoria & arranged private transfer to the airport.

Wonderful hosts and apartment!

Giuseppina and Marco were wonderful hosts! They were super communicative within days of our check in. Sent us lots of useful information in advance and when we arrived showed us all around the apartment. Giuseppina also offered and made several restaurant reservations and did not steer us wrong. She is the Italian grandmother we all want! The location is perfect near the city center but on a quiet street so you can sleep/relax peacefully! All the stars to Giuseppina and Marco for their wonderful hospitality!

Outstanding in all respects!

We had an excellent stay at this very special property. Giuseppina met us at the apartment when we arrived and spent a nice long time telling us about the apartment and the wonderful city of Bologna. Her English is much better than our Italian and we could communicate with each other quite easily. She made restaurant reservations for our first evening and also reserved a taxi for us for the day of our departure. The apartment itself is very spacious and so nicely furnished and designed (emphasis on design). The bedrooms are modern and comfortable as are the two bathrooms. The kitchen has everything you would ever need and was a delight to use. The couch in the living room was a beauty with such a special design form that I took a photo so I could try to find one in the US. I am told that the company does do business here. We really enjoyed the large furnished patio, adorned with lots of greenery, for coffee in the morning and drinks in the afternoons. Both Giuseppina and Marco were available to us at a moment's notice for advice on restaurants and train travel to lovely towns nearby. They could not have been more gracious. We recommend this property without hesitation.

The Red Door Apartment and our host, Guisippina, were both wonderful. The apartment was clean, comfortable, attractive and in as good a location in central Bologna as one could wish. Guisippina took care of us as if we were family, on arrival, during our stay and on departure. Highly recommended.
