A nice stay despite a couple of incidents
We have mixed feelings about our stay. While the house was quiet, clean and comfortable, and a great location, we experienced a couple of off-putting incidents.Grand Welcome manages the rental but the owners live next door (semi-detached) and their backyard/pool is behind a fence immediately off the garden of Casa Blanca. Shortly after arriving, I was in the back bedroom when two men walked right past the patio doors! Assuming it was the owner, I did message the rental agency to say that perhaps the owner should really notify guests if they are onsite. Later that evening, a dog suddenly appeared at the back door. The listing quite clearly states that this is a "no pets" property (partly why we chose it) so we were rather taken aback by the appearance of a dog, which was finally called back to the owner's side.On our final day, I had just got out of the shower when I was shocked to see the dog urinating in the middle of the lawn. I went to shoo it away and realised the owner was there. I asked her to remove the dog and her reply was that they use this area for toileting the dog! I said there was absolutely no mention of it being a shared space (let alone a dog latrine) and that this should be clearly stated in the listing.GW did refund 50% of the cleaning fee as a gesture of goodwill but this is not somewhere we would have chosen to stay if we had be aware of the shared space and dog (which should be stated in the listing).
