Great weekend in the mountains!

Nice cabin, clean and well appointed, with adequate space for ten adults (incl adult kids who used the bunk room). We loved the location, easily drivable roads and close to Gatlinburg, and an easy drive to Pigeon Forge. The property manager was attentive and easily accessible via text. It snowed a fair bit but the roads were clear and drivable mid morning. We will definitely come back to Elk Springs.

Beautiful Cabin in the Smoky Mountain

The property was just perfect for all our needs. A mini theatre, Jacuzzi, game tables. Bright light and comfy beds. Close to all towns.

The property was in good shape, although the kitchen was woefully under provided. All beds - every bed - was terrible. Two inches of mattress over springs. Would not stay there again at any discount.

Knotty & Nice 5 Star but...

Our stay in Knotty & Nice went smoothly and was a lot of fun. The property was as advertised, clean, cozy, and a great place to retreat to after a long day at Dollywood. The one “but” I would mention is: it’s a great property, but if you have a large group (we had 14) you may have a couple people having to take one for the team as far as sleeping arrangements go. The ladies slept 3 to a bed, 2 to a bed, 3 to a bed in the top and middle level bedrooms. The 6 men then slept 1 to each bunk bed on the bottom level, one on the pull out couch, one on the futon, one on the middle level couch, and one on a blow up mattress. The cabin is listed as sleeping 14, but I would revise that number to sleeping 10 or 12 personally. I also gave the neighborhood 4 stars, as it was not a very mountainous location, and had no area to really explore and had no fire pit. Despite those nit picky things, we all still had a great time and it was a trip we won’t soon forget. We would definitely reserve this cabin again, but with a smaller group next time.

Not worth the money compared to other cabins

We've stayed at 3 different cabins, and this is the most we've ever paid. Comparatively speaking, it wasn't worth the extra money. Nice features included the movie room, hot tub, plenty of space to play and sleep, nice outdoor grill, and TVs in every room. For the price, though, we'd expect the movie room to be stocked with DVDs (like others at a lower price) and/or have a streaming service. Several of the knives were so dull I couldn't cut an apple (this was raised in a March 2018 review and apparently not addressed). Also would expect some very basics like salt and pepper. Yes, we received the list of what is stocked and what to bring. Other cabins provide a similar list yet every place we've stayed in TN and elsewhere includes a few basic things like this (even though they aren't on the list). Management was very responsive to issues we raised and sent maintenance right away. Something we didn't bring to their attention is that the air hockey has a short in the cord, so it only works sporadically. Biggest issue was the ROACHES in the kitchen and dining area. So gross! We noticed this immediately upon check-in, and they sent an exterminator right away. Exterminator did a minor treatment and pointed out that they check and treat every 30 days and said it was likely another guest may have brought them in. The problem did not improve at all by the end of the week, in fact it seemed to be worse. We killed several daily, including adult and baby roaches. We've NEVER had this problem in a rental in TN or elsewhere!

Extended Family Vacation

Our three generation extended family spent a wonderful week in Gatlinburg at the Knotty & Nice Cabin. We were 10 people ranging in age from 8-78 years old and the cabin was great place for all of us to stay. When planning this vacation we had no idea where we should be staying but the location turned out to be perfect: near the National Park, Golfing, restaurants, shopping, zip lining, horseback riding, mountain biking etc. There was room for everyone in the cabin. The younger folks enjoyed hanging out in the lower level with the hot tub, pool table, air hockey. The dining area was perfect for our size group and the living room was a place for all of us to gather. The kitchen was adequate for cooking some meals although I never could find a cookie sheet! One small issue was the large plastic trash can in the kitchen that the lid never stayed on and was not very stable. The grill worked perfectly and the rocking chairs on the porch were a great hang out after a busy day. The cabin was nicely furnished and everything was in good working condition. We did not have any issues while we were there. I have already recommendation the cabin to some friends who saw pictures on fb and wanted to know where we stayed. The cabin far exceeded our expectations for a great extended family vacation.
