Fantastic staff and facilities. Rooms are a little small with not many places to unpack, but are very clean and tidy. Nice coffee machines with capsules provided daily. Shower was fantastic. There is free coffee and sweets in the lobby which is a nice touch and the bar is very nice with great cocktails.

Hotel from outside doesn't look great but at the second you step in you change your opinion, it's a beautiful hotel, well situated between the Gion district and across the river less than 10 minutes walk all the traffic and vibrancy of the city, near to bars and restaurants, great drinks at the bar, rooms on the small side but very nice.

I travelled with my wife and 2 year old. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the hotel. It was located right next to an underground station which made it convenient coming from Kyoto Station. We requested a crib upon arrival and the staff quickly assembled one in our room free of charge. We had the king bed with extra room, the extra room was definitely needed to fit a crib. The breakfast was quite good (~$35 CAD) we ended up going all three days. It was located within walking distance of a lot of the shopping and dining options. Will stay again if we ever come back to Kyoto.

This is an excellent hotel centrally located in Kyoto on Shijo (4th street). It is just on the east side of the Kamo-gawa river. It is a clean very well run hotel with a spa and bar within the hotel. Buffet style breakfast is included. It is walkable distance to the famous Gion district (Maiko and Geiko area). It is also walking distance to the famous shopping and restaurant region on Kawaramachi and shijo streets across the Kamo-gawa river bridge to the western side of Kyto. The hotel has bicycles to use if you want. It is a great central region from which you can get guides to tour the Kyoto region. You are also walking distance to the subway which can take you all over Kyoto as well. Rooms are a bit small but well maintained and modern. I did not see a gym, if you are interested in working out during your trip, but all the walking through the temples and shrines will make up for any lack of a gym. For this reason, Japanese are typically more fit than the average American due to their more rigorous activity walking throughout the day.
