My husband and I along with our 2 adult sons stayed in the room with the garden for 1 night (breakfast and lunch included) It was a wonderful experience and we would definitely recommend for anyone looking for an authentic stay at a Japanese Inn. We were greeted upon with a lovely class of chilled Chai tea when we arrived and checked in. We walked the area in the afternoon as the ryokan is in a great location and were back in time for a 6:30 Kaiseki Dinner in our room. It was a delicious meal and a very unique and special experience. We enjoyed a family meal sitting on the floor at our table in our room - very authentic. Afterwards they cleaned up the dishes and setup for bedtime and with two rooms we were able to spread out on our sleeping mats. Very comfortable but we were glad it was just for one night. After a good nights sleep we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast in the common dining room. We were moving to a new hotel that day but had a full day of touring before; we were able to leave our luggage with the Kinoe and picked it up later that day. They were very helpful and kind. The ryokan is in a great location - I woke early and using information from their website visited 3 temples that were just a short walk away. It was quiet and peaceful and a great time to experience without crowds. Only downside would be the âgardenâ is the same one you see from the lobby so if you want to enjoy it youâll probably be watched by anyone in the lobby. Room still great.
This is a lovely property for couples or families, walkable to anything youâd need. 7-11 and family mart, key bus routes and the major attractions of Gion. The half board is a great experience although westerners will struggle with breakfast. The staff was fantastic.
Points faibles : Service et personnel, confort de la chambre
Grossly overpriced and overrated
Highly overrated ratings. They must be fake ratings. This is a solid 2.5 star establishment. No AC in the hallways and rooms are very hot. Outdated room and bathroom. They have a small wall AC unit that is loud and barely cools the room. Overrated and grossly overpriced. I will never return to this place again.
Room was large. There is very little AC in the hallways. It took a long time to cool off the room, but then it was ok. There was no room service cleaning, we just got clean towels. If you want to experience this type of accommodations- and experience, one night will be more then enough. Location is great - walking distance to Gion district, geisha theater, etc
The location was perfect. The tatami rooms were in very nice condition and the staff was helpful. They do not forward luggage but the Kuroneko office was in front of the hotel. It was everything we were looking for within our budget.
Perfect location, close to Yasaka shrine and Hokan-ji. The Kaiseki dinner is a must-have for first-time ryokan experience! Very friendly and attentive staffs with fluent English. Bonus: Kimono rental places are just around the corner - the classic photo spots are within 5-10 minutes walk.
So beautiful and amazing hospitality. Would come back here again. Mind you, you may need to take the city bus here from Kyoto station but recommend uber if you have large luggageâs
