Our stay at Moon Palace was only okay. The food was excellent. The room was small, did not have many outlets for charging devices, and the wait times for golf carts to take you around the property were long. Most disappointing was the check-in check-out process. We were told we could have a late check-out time. On our last day they decided there was no availability for late check-out even after speaking with 2 managers…that is until they realized we were wanting to stay late to tour their other property. Suddenly they found availability, but at that point it was too late. It’s all a money grab.

If you want to have the most stressful vacation of your life, visit Moon Palace. They sell you one thing and deliver something completely different. I traveled with my three young daughters, and even though they knew the elevator was broken, they still put us on the third floor with no solution offered. The staff constantly harasses guests, pushing packages and resort credits that you end up not being able to use as promised. In short: a total disaster of a hotel. I do not recommend it.

This was definitely NOT a 5 star property. The beach is awful, (dirty, seaweed, no clear water) definitely not what their picture shows. If you want a pool vacation, this might be your cup of tea. We don't go to the beach to swim in pools. The check in was horrendous. Took hours and then they couldn't find our luggage. The resort is huge & you need to take a golf cart everywhere. Lastly, they try to "up sell" you on EVERYTHING. Even after checking out, they wanted to sell you another vacation! We will not be staying at any of their properties again

Moon Palace is a great resort and has so many amenities, especially for families. The kids playroom is the best I’ve seen at any resort. The overall resort service was impeccable. Staff was attentive, pleasant and went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. Food is pretty good for all inclusive. Our favorite was Asadero Palapa. Steaks were good, nice atmosphere and live music. Gondola and Momo Teppan also very good. If your priority is the white beach and beautiful turquoise ocean water this is not the place. Seaweed bad and water was murky, not clear at all and no sight of turquoise or blue water. Even if it isn’t seaweed season, the water is typically murky. We did not hang at the beach or touch the ocean there. We did make a trip to Isla Mujeres where the beach and water was stunning.

The property is full of people trying to sell you some packages. Even if you provide this feedback, they try to sell you a lower end package. The rooms are not sound proof and there is very loud music until about midnight. Check-in was slow (~1hr). Restaurants are not very flexible with reservations - definitely not suitable for families with kids who need such flexibility. The waterpark in the grand area is good for kids.
