Disappointing experience

My first 2 full days were spent moving rooms, fighting upcharges, and getting new keys (bracelets). The cockroaches, the jumping spiders, and the grime was just awful. I've been to cancun at least 10 times, ..this was the first time at moon palace, since friends recommended it.. ...but even they said this place has changed, sadly. The food was okay (not even good) ...and the restaurants had a 2-3 hour wait. The ones you need a reservation for (very few take them) were booked for days and the ONLY way to get one was to call literally at midnight, and hope your first. The decor is old, except the grand... but even there the themed restaurants were disappointing. The spa, on the other hand, is fabulous! If you like the beach and ocean, this is NOT the place to go.. ...but if you only really like pools.. ..this is great for that. The show's were not good, except the interactive quizzo night, that was likely the best part of my 10 day stay. Explore other places! I wish I could get my money back!

The bed in my room was so uncomfortable. It felt old and stiff on some part and loose in others. The pillows were horrible and so were the sheets. I did love everything else about the resort! Every single other part was amazing! The staff are all so genuinely caring and ready to serve. The Moon palace sunset was super clean. The food options are amazing. You must RSVP to Momos restaurant which sort of a Benihana type of restaurant and its on the sunrise part of the moon palace and its part of the all inclusive.

Service and Moon Palace are amazing! The only reason why I have it a 4 is because we were highly disappointed with the beach! It is out of the control of Moon Palace, but because of environmental circumstances the beach was smelly and in usable due to the horrible seaweed problem.

You cannot use the beach(seaweed)

We stayed there for 4 days. We couldn't use the beach at all due to extreme seaweed. Also, the smell of the seaweed was miserable, and we could smell it all around the hotel even in our room. So we went there to enjoy the beach, which, we couldn't even use the beach once and we had to cover our noses due to strong bad smell. I don't recommend anyone to go there if you plan to use the beach.

Tons of seaweed that makes imposible even walk close by the beach, forget about swimming in the ocean, it smells like death fish.The hotel try to mask that smell with "aromatherapy"which make it even worse. My all family got food poison with a every suboptimal food.

Nice hotel close to the beach and family friendly

Pros: options for food and activities
Cons: The beach at this resort is not really swimmable due to the seaweeds. Improve the frequency of the shuttle service.
Good resort overall. The food was great and the service was very good. There were ample activities for our whole family (golf, spa, games, etc.). However, the beach next to the resort was below of what I expected of typical Caribbean beach due to way too much seaweeds near the shore and in the water, hence we didn't get to enjoy the beach much. Also, due to the size of the resort, we had to rely on the on-site shuttle service to go from place to place on the resort or dining and for other activities which were not too bad but just something to keep in mind as sometimes you may have to wait for over 20 minutes for the right shuttle to show up (not all shuttle goes to the places you need to go). Also, the items at the on-site golf shop are way over-priced (for example, a sleeve (3-balls) of Nike Mojo golf ball cost $30 USD, which sells for $19 USD in the US for 24-pack!!!) which equates $10 USD for each golf ball, Ouch. The golf gloves also cost $30-$40 USD. So if you decide to play golf, pack those golf balls and gloves. Overall, we had a great time.

Great Place... but a bit tight for a family of 4

Pros: I was surprised at the food quality as my expectations were low for an all-inclusive... but Moon did an excellent job at providing a variety of food
Cons: Suggestion - Need more golf carts to get you around. Should work more like calling an UBER or where you can schedule a pickup.
Location: Did the Dolphin Adventure with Snorkeling in a cave, ziplining, rappelling and swimming with Dolphins. I did it in Hawaii... but much better here!
It was my first time at an all-inclusive and I really enjoyed my stay. I have 1 complaint and 1 suggestion Complaint - Room is tight for a family of 4 with a HUMONGOUS tub in the room that we nor any of the 200 or so guests we had stay there used. (This trip was for a wedding) Get rid of the tub in all of the rooms... It's a fad from the 90's and no-one uses it anymore Suggestion - Need more golf carts to get you around. Should work more like calling an UBER or where you can schedule a pickup.
