Traveled with large family. Learned last minute airport transportation is not included unless you pay for upgrade. Beach was nice with plenty of chairs, waterpark was fun for kids but food was not good. Struggled to find anything the kids would eat. Significant maintenance issues on the property. Our AC was out the majority of our stay, in our upgraded Level suite, making it miserable at night. Repairs were happening at the pool with electrical cords run where wet kids were playing. Elevator was out making it very difficult to make it back and forth to our room. Big chunk of the ceiling collapsed on first floor, looked like a leak.

What a great hotel! I've been to many hotels in Cancun and Riviera Maya and let me tell you - this one is a gem. We've booked the level suite, the room was amazing, very spacious, clean, renovated. The beach has soft sand, clear blue water, no seaweed, the waves r very mellow, perfect for kids. We had a personal concierge Majo, she is such a great person, she made our stay flawless!! Everyone who works at this property was very kind, attentive, and helpful. It is a smaller size hotel, but they still had entertainment during the day and at night, they have kids club and big Waterpark. The food was always fresh, everything was clean and handled with care and knowledge. We loved it and will definitely be coming back for our next vacation in Cancun.

We love the fact that everything is close as this is a small resort. Food is good but need variety. Overall, we’ve really enjoyed our time at the Mélia.

This is a fantastic option for families with young children. The breach is pristine, ocean shallow and gentle enough for our toddler to confidently walk a good ways in and the waterpark was so much fun - a daily must. Our 3 year old also LOVED the kids program activities and the teachers especially Cecilia and Abi were amazing with him despite him so young and often being the only child not fluent in Spanish. We really enjoyed our stay and felt safe and truly cared for.

Good value, good food

There is a very limited amount of shade on the beach as the palapas are reserved for an extra-charge club called "Level". The lounge chairs around the pool where there is more shade are not comfortable for laying on all day. The food was good but not as good as the NYX where we stayed last year. We were lucky to get a free upgrade to an ocean view suite so overall we are very happy with the value.

We walked into our suite and someone was laying in bed. Got reassigned a different room. They dont want you to have reservations at the 2 restaurants, they rather you do buffet. When they run out of food at buffet they do not restock- even when you ask.. dont let them sell you all inclusive vip as you still have things to pay for. Pool area is super nice and clean. Drinks are great. Beach area is nice as well. We did like the activities they had through out the day. Kept it interesting for kids of all ages. Taco night was excellent.

Visited Melia for a week this month. Had a wonderful time with our family and 3 young boys (age range 3-7). We loved the smaller size of the resort. The staff and service was excellent. I felt that they were so kind and did their work with joy, despite putting in long hours serving others. The food was good. Nothing extraordinary but it was still enjoyed. Only suggestion was to have greater variability from one night to the next. Overall though, it was very good. Loved the beach. Lots of good memories in the water and at the kids water park. Would definitely recommend.

Pros: Nice hotel with super friendly staff. The restaurants requiring reservations had amazing food. The water park was a big plus . I really liked that it wasn’t one of these extremely large resorts where time is consumed getting to the different areas, this is just perfect. Plenty of beach and pool chairs at any time of the day. Cons: The buffet food leaves a lot to be desired. There aren’t many options for kids. The drinks could be bette.

We just go home from a 5 day stay. We had upgraded our room before our stay since a discounted price was offered. What came with that was a concierge service, upgraded room and access to all 3 restaurants. Initially it seemed like a great added service. We were told we would have our own check in /out special services, which was only provided after. 20 minutes of waiting in line. Room ended up not having much of an upgraded look to it at all. Honestly for the hotel being recently renovated, the room was lack luster , bathroom had a rusty faucet and the shower area was very dark. Italian restaurant is hands down the best one there. Limited options at the other 2. If you do not upgrade to the level experience you then only have 2 options, 1 of which you need a reservation and they are only open at night. Most of the staff were very friendly. Lobby bartender Fernando was amazing. Antonio who works as the activity staff was a blast. All that being said they did recently change from being a time share resort to an all-inclusive resort. I feel this a big change for the staff and the current time share holders. They do also offer day passes at this resort as well to give a perspective of the different options available here . Kids water park was the best. Things to keeps in mind if visiting : They have no TV’s around the hotel(lobby bar or outside bar). If you enjoy watching sports this may hinder your decision to stay here. The masters were on and we had to use our phone.
