I absolutely loved my stay at Oleo Cancún Playa! The staff, are amazing and really attentive to the guests needs. The food is delicious and there are plenty of options to satisfy everyone. I loved the breakfast especially. They have a variety of activities to do all day around the pool, and you will never get bored in this resort!! The beach is clean and the staff does a good job cleaning up the seaweed/ sargassum so you can enjoy your beach time!

Do not ever stay at this hotel. The property is extremely dirty and looks very old. Everything is broken — nightstands, closets, sinks, toilets, door handles — nothing works properly, and most things feel like they are about to fall apart. It was filthy everywhere, as if the place is never cleaned. The beds were impossible to sleep on: extremely hard, with the cheapest mattresses and low-quality bedding. The room smelled like paint, and I woke up with a headache. The room itself was tiny, with just one sink and a very small shower with no hot water, only barely lukewarm. The walls and doors were paper thin, so I could hear people arguing in the hallway all night. I even called security, but it didn’t help. The food was absolutely terrible. It looked spoiled and unappetizing, with almost no variety. There was no real meat or fish, just old salads, rice, and low-quality desserts. Everything seemed like it had been sitting out for days, and I was afraid to eat anything. Less than 24 hours at this hotel, and I couldn’t eat a single meal. The restaurant itself smelled bad too. The beach was dirty, and the pools were very small. The staff was rude and unprofessional. There is not a single positive thing about this place. The photos you see online (including on Expedia) are heavily edited in Photoshop to mislead guests — the reality is nothing like the pictures. We only booked this hotel for one night because our flight was canceled, and I regret even staying here for one night.

Overall this was a great stay. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Also attentive. We also tried the spa and it was great. We had the pool to ourselves. The downside was that the pool chairs were always full and it was hard to find seating. However, the spa made up for it. Also, the wifi was pretty spotty but didn't care as I wanted to be off the grid so it worked in my favor. Overall would definitely come back.

Quiero comenzar agradeciendo al staff, en especial a Ramsses y a Enrique (mesero). Gracias a ellos, la atención al cliente merece la mejor calificación. En cuanto al hotel, considero que las fotos son engañosas. Es un hotel pequeño, sin áreas comunes más allá de una piscina. No hay shows, música, animación ni actividades. Las instalaciones son antiguas. En la torre donde me hospedé, las escaleras estaban cerradas y había que usar solo la rampa. Los ascensores, para 4 personas, estaban en malas condiciones y sucios. La habitación fue decepcionante. A pesar de haber pagado por una Junior Suite Ocean Front, la primera (1203, segundo piso) estaba en pésimo estado: baño sucio, lavamanos y ducha sin drenaje, inodoro defectuoso y, el primer día, ni siquiera hicieron la cama. Aunque reportamos los problemas, no nos ofrecieron cambio; solo gracias a Ramsses, ya de noche, nos mudaron a la 1903 (noveno piso). Esa también tenía fallas, pero al menos el agua de la ducha no se acumulaba. El hotel estaba casi vacío, por lo que resulta aún más incomprensible. Otro punto negativo: el único restaurante de desayuno abre a las 7:00 a.m., lo cual es un problema si tienes excursiones desde las 6:30 a.m. En conclusión, el personal es lo único positivo. No se dejen guiar por las fotos, la calidad real del hotel está muy por debajo de lo que anuncian.
