I loved Cancun but will never either come to this hotel or will recommend to family and friends. Flamingo hotel is really really bad.. just got back 03/21. Don’t don’t book a stay at Flamingo. Pay a little more will have a better experience..

Everything about the experience was great until my kid wet the bed and after alerting the property they stripped our sheets and would not return to make our bed in our prepaid room until I paid a fine for “damages.” They had a waterproof protective sheet on the bed, nothing was damaged just wet, a simple matter of throwing it in the washing machine. Super rude.

I would recommend to eat as often as possible at the Albatross (beach restaurant) because the food in the main cafeteria is not very appealing. Other than that, the Flamingo is super! Super nice and helpful staff, very clean, great service and very friendly to solo travelers

I'll give this property a zero if I could. Worst experience ever. The property doesn't have a designated place for smokers, so they have to smoke literally on the street and it makes the entrance and exit overcrowded. I understand the state of Quintana Roo has an environment

This was my first stay at a resort in Mexico, however I would not recommend this hotel. It's old, not well maintained, and the rooms are outdated and in need of serious TLC. The shower drain was clogged and turned into a bath every time I showered, as well as the sink drain not working properly. The water itself was yellow and absolutely disgusting when brushing teeth. They only give you 2 bottles of water, and when I asked for more they would only allow 2 bottles (600ml each) per day. I managed to find a water refill station by the ice maker, which the water tasted like seawater. Best option was to save my empty bottles and refill them at the gym cooler which had purified water. The wifi only works in the freezing cold lobby, when you manage to connect to it. The facilities aren't bad, there is a lunch room and 2 restaurants, but the food is subpar and doesn't taste very good. I felt sick and nauseous most of my time here, still managing to enjoy some of my time. On my first night here, an employee named Gonzalo came up to me, and we were having pleasant conversation until he started to ask if I'm interested in him, and if I want a relationship with him and to bring him to Canada with me. When I said no, he started asking where my husband/boyfriend was. He was pushy and I had to tell him I was uncomfortable, to which he finally got the hint. I wasn't expecting to be approached like this on my vacation, especially being alone in a new country.

The service was terrible at the front desk. I missed my flight because my original flight was delayed, so we did not get there til next day. I had called the hotel to ask that we can check in early since we were arriving the next day and it was already paid. The clerk said yes. When I got to the hotel at noon the following day the attendant told me that I could not check and that they had my room out for someone else. I stated that they are double dipping and she just looked and me and shrugged her shoulders. The manager was standing next to her and did not say a word.

‘Laguna view’ is misleading

The room had the ‘Laguna view’, which means that it was just above a busy road, and consequently, very noisy. It was impossible to use the balcony to relax because of the noise.

It's an old building with anunfinished room they put me in. Sliding door had screws and bolts sticking out. Black mold on the walls. Same good everyday. Have to do ALOT of walking. Elevator is way in the back if you choose to use it, or you climb ALOT of stairs

Hey, want a shower. Keep on wanting cause water will be a problem as we found out. No water in the rooms on several occasions. The food got better but we had days we just walked away. The beach was beautiful but trying to walk on the beach between clumps of seaweed and sticks. No beach volleyball. Casino night was the best they had to offer as far as activities. Shopping that they push in the advertising was absolutely ridiculous across the street is really a shut down building with decaying wharf. All in all they have secured that my next vacation will not be in Cancun at any of their facilities.
