The Waldorf Astoria Cancun is hands down the best hotel in Cancun, perfect for anyone looking to relax and unwind. Just a quick 20-30 minute drive from the airport, the resort feels like a true escape—far from the crowds and noise. The atmosphere is serene, the amenities are top-notch, and the service is truly exceptional. I haven’t heard a single guest complain about anything! A special shoutout to Francisco at J’AO for the amazing dining experience, Marcus for keeping our room immaculate every day, and Julio by the pool for his outstanding service. Whether you’re looking for luxury, comfort, or pure relaxation, this is the place to be. Can’t wait to return!

The SPA = PERFECTION. All aspects from décor, service, cleanliness, level of detail, everything was 10/10. Worth every dollar and is a must. The lobby staff was excellent, helping with our luggage and transportation the whole week. We had a swim up room and the pool was FREEZING cold with no way to be heated. There is a tiny plunge pool that could be heated, but it only fits 2 people comfortably. At JAO, we had the guac appetizer (delicious), fish beef tacos (underwhelming), especially for being over $30 USD for 3 small tacos. We were 1 of 3 tables and service was extremely slow… took 20 minutes just to get our drinks. The pool consistently had the best service-10/10 everyday. However, we ordrered regular margs ($19 USD) with reposado tequila. We werfe charged a ~$3 upgrade per drink for the repo, AND each drink had an additional “prep fee” of ~$5 USD. Scam- Makes zero sense. For room service we ordered 2 “prime” burgers (a staggering $34 each) and fettuccine ($19) add shrimp ($18). All items were horrible. The pasta and shrimp tasted like cardboard, unseasoned. The burger was NOT “prime” quality and completely burnt. A few bites in, we called and had them remove it and refund us the money, which they did politely. That night, at 1:30 am as we are trying to sleep, this awful loud sound started roaring outside. They were power washing near the pool. Why on earth would you choose that time to do it? Chaya had the slowest/worst service and food was mediocre.

We spent a week here and all we can say is wow. From the drive up to the entrance you’ll be blown away. The main lobby alone is an exceptional experience all by itself. The building is an architectural masterpiece. As a business owner in real estate development, sales and marketing I have to say that our experience here was inspirational. From the bell men to the entire staff, I can assure you that you’ll be impressed. Their entire staff is well trained to give topnotch service with a smile at all times. When we arrived the lady manager that welcomed us was just amazing. She assisted us and gave us as much information as needed. They have 3 exceptional restaurants that you can visit. All offering a wide range of culinary experiences. Alongside this, you’re able to order room service at extended time periods with a good variety of food options. The rooms are not just clean, they are beyond clean. The incredible smell flows through the entire property to the rooms. The impressive granite flooring flows throughout the room to the shower and countertops. The blend of sky blue and gold makes you feel like royalty having the 5 star experience of a lifetime. The room decor with gold finishes will take your breath away. If you love design and decor, you’ll love the rooms here and no aspect of the layout will disappoint. To top it all off is having private jacuzzi’s in every room. The outdoor oasis and spa areas will blow your mind. The views from every room is heavenly.

The property is beautiful and luxurious, with significant investment clearly made in its construction. If you're 50 years old or seeking a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle, this is an excellent choice. However, be aware that it's a 40-minute drive from the city, where most of the nightlife and action are located in the hotel zone. If you plan to stay here, having a car is essential, as transportation to the city can be costly—around $60 or 1,000 pesos per trip. Additionally, the hotel is not all-inclusive, and prices at the resort can be very expensive . For instance, a small pizza costs $20—so keep that in mind when budgeting for meal.
