My recent stay at this hotel was far below expectations. The cocktails were consistently weak and poorly mixed, and food took an unusually long time to arrive—even simple orders often required long waits with little communication from staff. The service was the biggest disappointment. Staff at the entrance were especially unhelpful, and I experienced a couple of rude interactions with the doormen, who seemed irritated by basic questions or requests for assistance. It created an unwelcoming first impression that carried through the stay. The room itself was fine—clean and reasonably comfortable—but minor maintenance issues and the overall lack of attentive service made it hard to enjoy. Even other guests I spoke with mentioned similar concerns. In the end, the hotel has potential, but the poor drink quality, slow food service, and unprofessional staff left me dissatisfied and unlikely to return.

The cleanliness & hygiene was so terrible of the room. There was a flood from the fridge which was not cleaned effectively and neither were we ever offered a room change even upon multiple requests.

Did not like the fact that the resturants do not take reservations but when you walk up thay tell it will be about an hour. Reason-- lack of cooks and servers. buffet had plenty. most staff could not speak english which was very frustating. could use better nightly entertainment

The pools were all cold, the doors and frames had mold, there were long waits at the restaurants or we just couldn’t get in at all. Only the royal elite members got the good quality drinks so we had to drink the cheap stuff. The soda selection was limited. Not enough beach chairs, not enough pool chairs. Just poor quality facility all around. Staff was good though

What a beautiful resort. Really enjoyed our stay here. Unfortunate that the outdoor stage was being renovated for the days we were there for the outdoor entertainment, but other than that I’m really happy with the overall experience. The food was also pretty good ! Buffet was awesome.

Despite recent renovations that create an illusion of luxury, the hotel still shows rust and calcium buildup on bathroom fixtures. The walls are extremely thin, so loud conversations and slamming doors start waking you up as early as 6 a.m. Not to mention the ongoing construction in the room above us that started at 9am and didn’t end until 6pm, so hope you don’t like taking mid day naps after being in the sun all day. Food was average, and the bartenders didn’t make quality drinks. Pool seating was almost impossible to find since guests can use unlimited towels to claim multiple chairs, daybeds, and beach spots at once. Restaurants don’t take reservations unless you’re a Royal Elite member, which often leads to waits of up to an hour. On the positive side, the pools were great, the beachfront was nicer than most properties, and the staff was consistently friendly. Overall, though, the resort falls short of the luxury experience it aims to provide.

The property is very small. If you’re looking for not much walking this property is for you. The elevators are tight. The room had a musty smell and mold on the lampshades and bed skirts. The furniture and closet hinges also had rust. Instantly activated my asthma. I would never stay here again. The balcony cement was broken. It was one of my least favorite stays.

I would not recommend staying at Sandos Cancun. The bedroom walls are dingy, and the furniture is cheap and rickety. The food was consistently bland, poorly cooked, or had confusing flavors. We even kept a salt shaker in our room after multiple requests for it because salt was rare in all the hotel restaurants. Waitstaff often forgot to bring our orders, and the mixed drinks were so bad we ended up drinking canned beer the rest of our stay. The worst part was that my fiancé got food poisoning from the hotel's restaurant, Seasons, and was vomiting for an entire night and day. I informed reception and asked for help, but they did nothing. I requested simple food items from room service, but they refused because they weren't on the late-night menu. After complaining at the front desk, they sent up light foods. I received a call from the concierge, Abril, the next day who apologized and promised something special for us at dinner. She never showed up and nothing special was prepared. I confronted her afterwards, and she made an excuse for her no show. She later claimed we'd get a partial refund and gave me her manager's contact for Expedia to get in touch with. Seven days later, the manager, Stefano Rayo, still hasn’t responded to Expedia’s attempts to process our refund. I will update this review if I hear back, but after everything, I have low expectations.
