We loved the wildlife. The trolley drivers were excellent getting us around the properties. The buffet had a good variety and the restaurants had good food and excellent service. If anything was missing they were pompt to find it for you. Not so quick to repair broken things in room. Beach was not good. No place to wade along the shore and sargasso was a problem - not their fault

Not on the beach, guests must take a bus to the closest beach, which during our stay was covered in some kind of invasive seaweed (obviously not the resort's fault). Lots of staff running around the resort but it seemed like actually attending to the guests was not priority. Long lines at all bars and it takes forever to get served coffee in the morning. Food was pretty good, we are pescatarians and there were always lots of different options for us. As other reviews mention, the rooms smell musty and the AC is not very powerful. Coba does have great pool areas for kids. Our son is only 8 months and couldn't take advantage so in our case i wish we had stayed elsewhere. They did honor our request for a crib but it was extremely uncomfortable for our son and he woke every 1-2 hours (this is a kid that sleeps 12 hours straight normally), i would suggest bringing a pack n play or something if you travel here with a baby. We were also extremely far from the lobby and buffet area. We didn't mind walking but we felt kind of isolated.

We had to move to different rooms because of one of our AC's was leaking all night. Got sick from the mold & mustiness. Then we watched someone climb into the patio of our son's room and nothing was done about it. My husband's phone was stolen the first day. Without the help of Esmeralda, the trip would have been a total bust. Not to mention the non-existent beach - the stink was horrendous and basically, the beach was non-accessible. Why would I go to a beach resort and then there is no beach? The only highlights of this 11-day trip were the people that tried really hard to help make things better and the BahiaSpa. Those ladies at the Spa were totally awesome. Would I ever go back? Not just NO - but Hell NO!

Resort is huge with everything you need. Has a water park for kids and many pools for adults. Many options to eat and the food is great. Transportation is conviniant but a little tricky at first. Beach is great especially the adult section. Many fish great for snorkeling. I suggest the thursday night mexican fiesta its Fun for kids too.

it’s was just ok

Pros: the size of the room. Pretty big, separate beds for the kids Cons: property is just way too large. It’s a 15 minute walk from the main lobby to the room. They provide shuttles but they only stop at certain areas to get on. Not very convenient. Food is just ok. Staff is ok. Long wait at the check in line. Nothing great. Overall, why pay for mediocre when I’m sure you can get good somewhere else?

Fun and Clean, Pictures are a little deceiving

Pros: Many food options, great service in restaurants and bars, lots of beach and pool lounge chairs, fun pool activities, room cleaned every day, safe
Cons: Accurate pictures of where the beach is in coordinates to the beach
Location: We did not go off the resort due to our short stay, but lots shopping on site and you can swim with dolphins at the resort!!!!
We truly enjoyed our stay at Coba! Staff was personable and easy to communicate with. Room, food courts, lobby and bars were all clean and easy to navigate. We were most disappointed with the deceiving pictures on Travelocity of how close Coba is to the beach... I have stayed at Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana and the pictures were on point. The pictures online for Coba were very inaccurate according to how far away the beach was. We were under the impression we would be able to walk to the beach from our hotel room through the hotel complex. Instead, we could not access the beach from Coba and we had to take a trolly every time to the beach on the Tulum complex, at least a 5-10 minute trolly that did not come for pick up as fast as the hotel said it would (every 10-15 minutes). Other than the beach being so far away, our stay was wonderful! Many food options, great service in restaurants and bars, lots of beach and pool lounge chairs, fun pool activities, room cleaned every day, cheap option for a safe upon arrival. All in all, very satisfied with our stay, but would definitely choose to stay with Grand Bahia Principe Tulum to be closer to the beach on our next stay.
