Great service and nice hotel , would stay again. Only feedback would to have more umbrellas for shade. So many people were fighting for shades chairs it became a bit chaotic and we saw a few fights. A minor point for our overall visit, but something this hotel should bring. UMBRELLAS!

Great property The only problem is in buffet areas leading to outdoor dining Saw several people slide and a couple fall when entering inside dining area There should be a carpet or some abrasive material to help stop the potential falls

We have stayed here 8 times in 15 years. It has been our “go to” place without question. We have come in all capacities: as a couple, with friends and with family. Unfortunately, we will stay elsewhere next time. Our rooms were inconveniently located in the back of the building by the bus stop. We requested rooms closer to the pool but were denied due to the hotel being at “capacity” but the hotel had less people than we’ve ever seen. Front desk staff is AWFUL with communication. The rooms need updating. They are decorated exactly like they were in 2010. The “push to flush” toilets don’t work well. We stayed 7 days and our room was only cleaned 4 times. I think this place has lost its charm for us.

Special shout out to Maria who is an activity director at the pool!! She is phenomenal and makes all guests feel at home! The resort was just as expected and the staff were incredible! The kids loved the water parks and it was easy to walk to the other ones at the other hotels within the Barceló resort! Most of the restaurants were easy to book reservations with and were a nice change from going to the buffet for every meal. That being said the buffet offered lots of different options and was very good! I would definitely recommend Barcelo and would stay there with my family again :)

We had an amazing experience at this resort. I had spent many family vacations at the Barcelo in Punta Cana and this blew it out of the water. We came with kids ages 5 and 7 and our moms, and were lucky to arrive at check in to an upgrade to premium which meant we were at the first building with a pool and ocean view right in front of the kids club and water park (of many water parks at the resort). There is so much to do here, we stayed 5 days and didnt scratch the surface. Shopping, shows and kids entertainment, nightclub, casino, bowling alley, haunted mansion, escape room, you will never be bored. They have double decker buses shuttling between the 6 interconnected resorts. The food was excellent, but the alcohol was not great. I think it was both watered down and a lack of knowing how to make certain classic cocktails, like I asked for an old fashioned and it tasted like mint, I asked for a martini and they used half a bottle of olive juice. But they do have a liquor store with premium brands if you prefer. The kids shows were a blast, and it was nice have an air conditioned theater. We sprung for the romantic dinner on the beach and it was so sweet. We got the 4 course surf and turf, every other course but the main was amazing but the steak and lobster were dry and clearly cooked way before we sat. But it didn’t really take away from the lovely night. I am definitely coming back and brining friends and family.

I didn’t like the fact the property was discriminatory in providing an upgrade for customers with the same VIP status room upgrade. We were told it is not available and 5 minutes later provided to another family with the same number. The check in and check out was very slow. The trip arrangements with travel agents were very disappointing and dinner reservations were unavailability for us after we told them we have kids. First room assignment was no cleaned with bad smell. They were able to move us to another room but the safe was not working.
