We had a fantastic time at Barcelo Maya Riviera. It’s big but well executed. Super clean, modern resort with good food, drinks and the largest pool we’ve ever seen. They clean the beach throughout the night to keep it free of sargassum. Premium upgrade was worth it for best views, preferred dinner reservations and upgrade to Patron for the best margaritas. All staff were friendly and ready to accommodate any request. The room was modern and gorgeous with an HUGE comfortable bed. And don’t miss the free daily hydrotherapy at the spa. It was amazing!! Also had an outstanding massage and facial. The double decker bus runs frequently and makes it easy to travel to other resorts. the spa and club day or night. We also visited the 3 cenotes located right across the street. Yes, you can walk to 3 cenotes: Azul, Eden and Cristalino. We have vacationed at A LOT of all inclusives and this one was superior by far. We’ll definitely be returning!

Got the swim up premium and was well worth it! We used the pool so much after hours. Food options were really good as well! Staff was extremely nice and helpful and really liked the access to other resorts! Would definitely come again

The food was excellent, I am a really picky eater and I have zero complaints. The restaurants were beautifully decorated. The property is so clean and the staff were extremely hospitable, I just love the Barcelo brand.

The entire property was very well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were nice in size. We had all 4 restaurants at the adults only and loved all 4. Only complaint if I were too make one would be the pool closing at 8pm but we just took that time to enjoy strikes and other parts of the resort. Absolutely a 10 out of 10 my favorite vacation to date.

Although this is an "Adults Only" resort, be ready to deal with the obnoxiously drunk 17 to 20 year olds ruining the experience for the more mature crowds. And yes, we did confirm these kids ages. Shame on the parents and resort management allowing this to happen.....

Negatives: the beach was not good due to the sargassum weed problem. Luckily you have access to the other properties where you can find slightly better beaches but nothing great. Food at the buffet was really subpar. Literally the worse I’ve experienced in all the resorts I’ve been to. No quick food options poolside. Although we were ok with it, if you are into daily itinerary of entertainment, this is not the place for you. Another subpar aspect of this resort. Again, you have access to the other resorts and can go enjoy other activities there, but must take long walks or long shuttle rides which can be quite inconvenient. Pros: beautiful property. Huge pools. Expansive beaches. If you are in to rest and relaxation, this is the resort for you. Although the buffet is not very good, they make up for it with the great reservation only restaurants. Italian, French, Japanese and Mexican. The Mexican taco bar was excellent. Make sure to reserve a spot at all these restaurants nightly. You have Access to all the other resorts. They have a mall area with a casino, mini golf, bowling. Although it can be a bit time consuming you can explore the many other properties there.

I have to admit.. I might be spoiled... The only reason I went to Barcelo because of family reunion that family could afford. Upgraded to premium service. Half mile walk to the rooms. Your minibar is not was expected.. 1 bottle of local wine, 4 cans of Corona. Don't expect anything else. I specifically called and ask to deliver 6 cans of Modelo for extra charge. It was never done. What really pissed me off. Half an hour conversation with room service when I came back from casino... The guy was just a jerk. Keep saying that he can't deliver BEER to the room after midnight or exchange it. The beach at premium level was terrible. Little sand and suddenly sharp rocks. Drinks not delivered to the beach. Buffet is kind of OK, but really can't judge it. I just left the next day. The hotel staff had no idea. Conclusion: FU Barcelo.

This is hands down the best hotel in Riviera Maya when it comes to the beach and overall design both interior and exterior are absolutely stunning. The food is also very good, with the French restaurant being the standout on the property. Since this is an adults-only hotel, I expected a more vibrant nightlife. Unfortunately, that’s where it falls short. The entertainment is lacking and the atmosphere at night feels pretty dull compared to other adults-only resorts we’ve stayed at. It could really benefit from more exciting, sexy, and engaging nighttime experiences to bring the place to life after dark. Aside from that, everything else was exceptional I would still rate this hotel a solid 10/10.

We lived our Stay at the adults Only All inclusive! It gave us access to the other properties, there is a double decker bus that takes you to the other 5. Plenty of actives to do (escape room, mini golf, go carts). The property was very clean including the beach area. We really enjoyed our stay!
