One the best hotels I have stayed in the Riviera Maya. Super clean and spacious rooms, great food. Staff was verry good. Just wish the buffet restaurant would be open for dinner. Overall was a great experience for an adult only resort. No craziness.

I have been coming to the Barceló hotels for at least 12 years now and have had about 16 stays total. First at barcelo tropical, then barcelo palace and now since the adults only barcelo riviera opened I’ve been staying here. The service, food, room amenities have been steadily declining over the last 5 years that I’ve been coming. This trip was a constant issue with having our room restocked with waters and the pool person not giving us extra towels (but not following the same rules with other visitors). It’s the little things but compared to when I first started coming here the service just is not what it was. The beach is great here and the pool areas are nice. The hotel is very clean. The rooms do smell like mold and you can’t keep the AC on which causes the room to always be humid. Anyways, although I used to love coming to this hotel and love going to Mexico after so many years I will be looking for a new resort to stay at.

Our room had a musty odor, the AC vent was uncovered revealing a large rectangular hole and the vent itself was sitting on the counter. Our TV was broken and the overall decor was lacking. Taking our issues to reception they wanted to downgrade our room but ultimately moved us to a comparable room on a higher level but it was directly above the Bahía DJ club and was very loud, one of the best beds I’ve had. The pool and beach are great and service was on point. The buffet surprisingly good, the hibachi restaurant was average at best.

This was our best hotel we have stayed at thus far. Quick and easy services. Pool area was well kept and LOTS of seating. Never had to go down early to reserve a chair at the pool. Our one downside was we paid for the premium service and still not sure what benefit it really provided. 24 h room service was nice but our drink package and service was the exact same as the others we came with that didn’t get premium so was very disappointed in that service. But that being said I would absolutely come back to this hotel!

This place is really very nice and 1st class all the way. Buffet closes at 6 pm and that is a small problem but specialty restaurants are great and excellant food. No wait staff on the beach is also a small problem. The ocean here is not quite as walkable (bring water shoes) as the Palace which is family oriented and a much better ocean for cleanliness and water quality. In room coffee was hit or miss with our maid service. Great place overall! Matt from Texas
